Tush push is absurd and should be banned. Kraft was helping his buddy Lurie win another Super Bowl.
Its one of the few things that remain from actual browns-style / single lane helmets

what is absurd is people thinking that overpowering in the trenches is too much in AMERICAN football

You guys have no respect for tradition, guess its easier when its based on personal life (yes im calling you all OLD GEEZERS)

I wouldn't mind the tush push being banned on very specific 1 yard or less to go scenarios, and only for the QB or whoever takes the snap. But I think I remember the wording of the rule banning pushing the ball carrier anywhere on the field. That's pretty pathetic and a fat no from me

This old geezer is right in line with the Pats on this one, but it isn't because of the old days. Back then the NYFL didn't allow runners to be pushed by other offensive players. The Eagles eventually figured out how to take advantage of it. If Ernie Adams had come up with it we'd all be saying how brilliant it was. They're all playing by the same rules.

They don't let the defense line up and push teammates to help them beat blocks. This was a player safety rule for FGs, EP, and Punts. The simplest way to make the play more competitive would be to allow the defense to push too but there is little way the NFL would undo a safety rule.

I still think they shouldn't ban the tush push.

In a complete surprise to nobody the NFL ruled on the side of keeping the offensive side of the ball moving.

Are the Eagles taking advantage or using it better?

I agree with the later half conclusions and argumentation but your beginning lacks the proper introduction and construction of lee-way to said arguments, which again, fair.

in short:

The solution is easy. My problem with the tush/push is simple. They need to ban the practice of having other offensive players help the ball carrier move forward. It's been a rule for over a hundred years before the seem to allow it a few years ago.

So this is a rare instance where I agree with the league on a rule change. It makes me feel uncomfortable. It will only end when someone gets seriously hurt. But in the end they don't need to ban the tush/push. They need to ban aiding runners from behind

Go back to the way it was historically. I don't like the tush push.

Is it just me, or have the tweaks come at a much faster pace the last few years? It used to be fairly mundane stuff like the o-line's lattitude for using their hands before drawing a flag for holding (which is a moveable feast no matter where they draw the line.) But lately it's starting to feel like a sport that would appear in a sci fi book about a sport descended from football, like the one in Starship Troopers where a WR did flips on the field as part of a post pattern. Or Quiddich. Sorry. Tush push is the topic. Actually I'm so neutral on this there are inert gases more volatile than me.
