OT: NFL Makes Deal With Pat Riley

Really gross from an Eagles perspective walking into this one

Maybe the Eagles players can hear the contract language the night prior to the game...for motivation and such

It's weird that a sports league would actually pay money to use certain words when you can celebrate 3 Championships with other words and phrases that don't cost millions. It proves how badly the NFL wants the Chiefs to win if they are already striking deals and willing to pay big money just so they can market another Chiefs Super Bowl win with these certain words.

But many of us aren't surprised the NFL wants another Chiefs championship win because it's obvious the NFL and Pfizer orchestrated a fake relationship of Taylor Swift with Travis Kelce just to get bigger ratings with female fans. So anything is on the table for the NFL to promote this

This is like when the Steelers had their bags packed in the 01 AFCCG. Good teams use this **** for motivation
Allllll the talk for 2 weeks has been about the Chiefs. No one is talking about the Eagles. If this simply motivates Saquon Barkley then that's enough. The zebras can call holding on a big run, but they can't call holding every time if he is constantly breaking big runs. The Bills also seemed to demonstrate some run defense weaknesses in KC even if they weren't able to capitalize fully.

If the NFL is trying to end the complaints about referee bias towards the Chiefs, I think this might not be of great help…..
Goddell facing the question at his annual PC, the head of the referee union publicly addressing it, and a recent poll saying over 70% of fans think the NFL is fixed, are exactly the things the NFL gets scared about.
The word will be out, the chiefs will get no questionable calls.

Just like in 2017 when people were complaining about the catch rules, and they literally changed them for the SB, this game will be officiated to satisfy fans.

I kinda feel like the Eagles will win. Reminds me a lot about the 2007 Super Bowl where the Giants were sort of an afterthought and feel slighted and all the pressure is on the Chiefs to do something historic.

Agree, the fact that Goodell is addressing it at all means they hear the negative feedback. The best thing they can do for the brand is make sure they get calls right and play it straight.

Yeah, agree.
But then, I thought that going in to the Bills game as well.

I guess we will know when and if they hit Mahomes for the first time. If they light him up with a legal hit and there's no flag, then the message was received. If they tackle him and tuck him into bed all nice and cozy and they throw a flag, then we will know the league has their head up their collective asses.

I'll be interested to see how Brady plays it. If anyone doesn't give an eff on bowing to the shield, it's him.

They can't call it straight. Too many people have paid too much to the NFL to ensure that the Chiefs winning is the most likely outcome. The Patriots are a stain on the NFL and this is why they tried so hard to find someone to hang their hat on. First it was Manning, then it was Luck, and they finally hit it with Mahomes and the Hunt family.

I disagree. It's not about the Patriots, even a little. 0%. It's about printing more money, period. Only us Pats fans think it's about us.

Its about the separation of the almighty dollar from the hands of the entitled.......................

This SB result is already bought and paid for. The NFL will make billions in merch.

Goodell only cares about public perception. Chiefs won’t get any calls, and they will probably make sure the number of flags is heavily in phillys favor so they have a data point. They may also want to give a controversial call to the eagles to create an unfair chiefs story line.
