Yeah but doubt they give out another large contract for a tackle and give out draft capitol on top of that.
I'd love to have him. But, we would have to give up a 1st round pick in addition to paying him, and that pick could be LT Will Campbell out of LSU who we could have on a 5 year rookie contract.

Upon second look he's younger than I realized might actually cost a 2 or more like you're suggesting. I was thinking he was closer to 30 he's still 25. I'm still interested though.
For a 2nd round pick, absolutely! But not a 1st.

Not if they have a stud LT like Wirfs. Fixing that position will fix a lot that is wrong with this offense.
True. But we could also have LT Will Campbell from LSU who we'd have on a 5 year rookie contract. I'd give a 2nd rounder and maybe a 5th in the 2025 Draft for him (or reasonable facsimile thereof).

Mac Jones was a great pick. Not having to trade up to grab a pro ready QB who just won the national championship was a no brainer.

Mac was selected to the pro bowl his rookie season. Would have been interesting to see what Mac's progression would have been had Josh McDaniels stuck around.
I suspect that will remain one of those great unanswered questions of our time.

Rodgers will probably make the playoffs and then crap all over himself per usual.
But didn’t you know he’s the best to ever play the position and is first ballot HOF according to some??? /s. Kidding aside I’m fairly certain the Jete stank will sink the ship again.

He’s the guy I wanted the Pats to draft.
Me too. Fully on board with Polk and Baker now. Moving forward.

The thing about the otas though with Herbert and McConkey is, besides Palmer who is left on the roster to throw to from last season. Allen and Williams are gone so I imagine he will get a lot of pub from the media and targets often from Herbert.

Malik "Michael Bishop" Cunningham.

Saints moving Trevor Penning to RT and the rookie stud RT from Oregon State, Taliese Fuaga, to LT. Wow.

Fascinating to watch. They lost two starters to free agency, James Hurst and Andreas Peat, on the OL.

And there’s talk of this being a break out season for Taysom Hill, the H back/TE/RB/occasional QB like Jules.

He’s not wrong. If he flops, the whole regime probably gets ****-canned. He has to deliver at least an AFCCG appearance for this whole thing to have been considered marginally successful.
They only traded "2" 2nds

This ought to age well when the Jags don’t re-sign him after this season lol

Why would they not re-sign him? I think he is perfect for them. Hometown kid who can win you some games if Lawerence goes down. I think the kid learned a big life lesson here. I think BB screwed him and I think he did not react well to being screwed with. I think this year he gets his feet back under him and gets a nice multi year deal from them to be the back up.

It's more a question of whether Mac re-signs with them. Like most backups, he probably wants to go somewhere he has a better chance to compete for starter duties. Lawrence is entrenched at QB1. And it's not like Brisket, where he can be starter until a rookie is ready. I doubt Mac will stay unless he has no good other options.

I'll be devil's advocate:

Most seasons of most first ballot HoFers have ended in playoff disappointment. And it's a lopsided count.

Not even gonna look it up, the devil told me so himself and I believe him.

Bingo. We're so spoiled, not only by watching Brady/Belichick for so many years, but in a perverse way from now seeing how dominant Mahomes and the Chiefs are, that we forget that the vast majority of Hall of Famers are only going to win one, MAYBE two Super Bowls. And in some cases, like Marino, won't even have one. Brady is who he is because he's exceptional, not because he's the standard.

I don't like Rodgers as a person, and I think his overall playoff success has been a disappointment, because the talent is obviously there. But he's a first ballot HoF'er, and there's really no argument against that (unless you want to retroactively kick people out and completely shift the way inductees are chosen).

I liked him too but we're going love Baker ad Polk solid selections.
Saw an interview with Curran (or Bedard) and he was pointing out some issues with Baker that may make him to be someone who needs to be handled correctly and could be a concern later, like Jack Jones.

Certainly he has talent, but he slid for a reason. Let’s hope it all works itself out, but showing up with a posse ( ie hangers on) is something that will impact him post career, if he doesn’t handle it right and ends up broke.

Like has happened to so many others.

Seems to be a common affliction with WRs for some reason.

There's ending in disappointment, and then there's crapping your pants.
