This is interesting - wonder why they're relasing him now?

He played 23 snaps against the Steelers (35%) and finished with a tackle. He's got 16 tackles for the season, 3 QB hits, one tackle for a loss, and a pass defended. And they've had him playing special teams.

One number that obviously stands out: Zero sacks.

But again, it's just weird that they're letting him go now.

He's toast Ian, he's got nothing left. They are probably waiving him to give a practice squad player some playing time.

I don't disagree, and that 3rd round pick looks pretty great considering how fast he's dropped off. It's just odd that Miami would release him at this point, albeit it helps New England's cause in two weeks, since he's one less player they have to deal with. Although, he wasn't much of a factor in the first meeting. He finished that game with just one tackle and played just 20 snaps against them in Week 5.

They just benched Tua for Quinn Ewers, so . . .

eh, they save themselves a couple hundred thousand in salary/bonus money...

miami will probably use a bunch of roster bubble players in his place to see if they have anything worth holding on to instead of keeping a vet who is obviously at the end of his playing days...

it's strange how fast players can fall of the cliff.
Not really IMO. Dude's made a chunk of money, and he's making the least amount of money he's made since 2019. He's played on losing teams since 2022. I bet there's a high amount of "eff this" going on. Takes a special individual to have the drive to keep going, power thru and get the next deal.

so, maybe he can dial it up one last time for a Pats playoff run? or just plain cooked?

I agree. It has always amazed me how quickly a player can fall off. Doesn't seem possible to fall as fast as Judon did. I always think there is an undisclosed injury that slows the player. Hightower played well with a gimpy knee for years (I seem to remember Hightower failed the JETE physical in 2017). We never know what a player is dealing with. I also look at Mahomes and Jackson who are still both good, but not nearly as dynamic after taking so many hits. Josh Allen seems to break the mold as he has taken a bunch of hits and still looks great. It was hard for Brady to look any slower than he did at the Combine - LOL.

I don't think it's "weird" that they cut him. I feel like it's relatively common for teams to do this for relatively insignificant vets like this at the end of the year once they get eliminated. He's not very good anymore. MIA has no need to keep playing him while they run out the string of games here since he has no future there. Do right by the vet and let him maybe latch on somewhere else.

Our pass rushing off the edge has been pretty dreadful. Chaisson hasn't had a sack in 4 games and after a hot start it's looking more like he's just an ok rotational guy vs. a breakout home run signing. Landry has a sack in 3 straight games but you can see on tape that he has little ability to beat OTs anymore - his pressures mostly come from schemed up stunts where he's the beneficiary or coverage sacks. His motor on extended plays and football IQ to execute those schemed pressures make him valuable, but ideally he'd be a run down player that provides pass rush in those ways but then he comes off in situations that call for more obvious pass rush juice. Jennings is a pure run stiffer with no pass rush juice. The others are still-developing youngers.

Judon has zero (0) sacks this year so on paper he's no real solution. But it's definitely a need area and he wouldn't be the first guy to get a little spark going to a new team. I'm sure they'll watch the tape and maybe even work him out to get a sense of where he's at and if he could help in any way at a pretty critical area of need. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Who knows if he's got anything left? I mean, it might be desire at this point.

Surprised Judon coexisted with McDaniels for this long.

Vrabel! Get this man 10 tins of Russian nicotine pouches and the best HGH this side of Peyton Manning's estate - we'll get him in prime form to finish the year with an SB bout.

Thats what i originally posted. People make it sound like hes playing like Juden
Agree. People are easily frustrated by a sport they like but don't have a like for the endless details and bigger picture.
