OT: Matt Ryan to Colts

I'll say this also regarding Ryan. No one will feel bad for him bc he's sitting on 100m but he took that franchise from the dumps after Vick and Bobby P. Didn't complain about half the fans wanting Vick. Didn't complain about the down years. Didn't complain about how incompetent the FO or coaching staffs. Again he was paid very well but he came correct and handled his business imo. You draft a QB #3 overall and they could be a lot worse then Ryan. Look at his #'s compared to other HOF QB's and the measure up except for the ring. Trying to win a ring in Detroit or Atlanta is next to impossible though. Good luck on the next rebuild Falcon fans bc chances are you won't find another Ryan anytime soon.

Getting an extra 2nd is my goal every year it seems.

Detroit has been on my mind on weeks. They have 32, 34 & 66. They obviously could stay pat but also wouldn't surprise me to see them want to move up.

Chicago also has no 1st RD pick. 39 and 48, they might want to trade up for a WR Fields since that WR corp is putrid.

Seahawks are another. They have 9 but taking a QB there would be foolish. They could use 40 & 41 to entice someone.

Cleveland also has no 1st RD pick but have 44.
Would love for us to get a pick between 32 and 40 I think that's a key spot. Good place to get some of those fringe First Rounders who are coming off or nursing injuries.

This is the worst news? huh... well, then we might as well cash in our chips, pack it in & go pick up our participation trophies, because everyone else has just "won the offseason" ...

I guess we view things from a different perspective... The more it becomes dog eat dog in the other divisions, the less likely they will have good division records...

means, perhaps, better tie breaking odds for us?
The worst news FOR THE PATRIOTS. And I'm in no way counting them out - at all (they'll go as far as Mac's progress takes them).

The Bills way overpaid for Miller - not too worried about that. It's their division to lose anyway.

The north will eat each other and Bengals will bungle and Browns will, well, Brown.

The West is going to beat each other to shreds.

I see the Pats competing with the Colts for a WC, much like last year, and that Colts team is pretty damned good.

Falcons will have nearly 140 million in cap space next offseason.

That's when they go all in imo.

Wouldn't be surprised if they are SB contenders by 2024 at the latest.

Truer words haven't been spoken about Matt Ryan.

I have so much respect for him and I am happy that he is out of Atlanta. I think he will do well with the Colts, they have a really good OL and a really good running game. When Matt has both those things, he can be an elite QB just like he had the year he took the Falcons to the SB. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he does great.

The best thing that happened for his career just happened about an hour ago.

yeah, adding matt ryan to the mix is just more of the same. they basically are treading water.

my ?.02

Eh, anyone else see this as not a big deal?

Ryan for Wentz is basically an even swap afaiac...
Ryan is actually a good QB, former MVP, RYOY, All Pro, 4x Pro Bowler...

The Falcons moved Ryan for nothing because they extended him in 2018, then proceeded to use his contract as a slush fund, pushing cap down the road year after year.

When fans say "the cap doesn't exist" because other teams are spending wildly, remind them the Falcons traded Matt Ryan with zero alternative at QB because they were in cap hell.

Holy smokes? They'll be lucky to be an 8 win team by 2024. This team is years away from competing again.

Also I never want to hear that the NEP had the worst WR corp in the league again.

never said matt ryan was a bad qb. He's fine. He will net you all kinds of fantasy football points.

Falcons moved matt ryan because 1) they didnt want to take a 48 million dollar cap hit this year for him 2) couldnt get watson 3) knew they werent going to win, so might as well take the 40m hit now.

Post Deflategate Dolts. The xurse continues.

Another *banner* going up in Indy any day now! You'd think they just got the 25-year-old "Matty ICE" instead of the guy the Pats left pacing the sideline muttering to himself during the "28 - 3" SB game. Decent QB but seriously, since the SB loss their (his) record is 35 wins - 47 losses and missed the playoffs 4 out of 5 years (last 4 years in a row).

Good move for indy, its gonna be a battle trying to make the afc playoffs this year . Hopefully he falls off a cliff
