The demographics of oral cancer has changed over the last few years. It used to be predominantly older males with a heavy history of alcohol and tobacco use. In the last few years, it has affected many younger people, male and female with limited or no history of alcohol or tobacco use. The HPV has been found to be a cause of a great many oral cancers recently. While I don't know of Kelly's cancer ( and I wish him a speedy recovery) there could be a host of causes, and not related to tobacco.Sad news. I don't know what details Kelly has shared, but was he into chewing tobacco back in the day?
