And you're still missing my point, but it's cool. It is what it is. I'll say one last time. I do not believe that the statement he made would prevent Bill from signing him today if the price and talent were right. Bill only wants to win and if he didn't sign Revis, assuming he can still play at a high enough level, then he would be a bigger hypocrite than Goodell himself because all he ever talks about is doing what's best for the team and improving the team. Legacy is huge to him, and it is for Tom as well to want to keep playing after already cementing himself as the greatest. You've (not you) got to be kidding me if a person thinks some monsense he said on the spot, peobably just for laughs, would give perhaps the greatest winners in the sport any apprehension about this player if he proved he could still perform. If what Revis said was so bad to them, I don't think the reception would have been so warm in 2015. For crying out loud, Patricia was gushing and laughing and being playful the whole time. TB12 had the biggest smile on his face when he spoke with him. DMac was slapping his pads and they talked for a good while before and after the game. There's a difference between cordial because he helped you win and all of that.
So, I'm afraid we'll sadly just have to disagree on this one, my friend. I think all of that nonsense is for fans and media, not the guys who suit up and sacrifice everything to win...well, at least in our organization anyway.
I guess we do agree to disagree. The last thing I'll say on this is everyone can be cordial and nice in front of the camera where everyone is watching. Anyone can talk to a guy they may despise or hate. Brady and BB were cordial to Goodell during the MVP conference and when they were on stage getting the Lombardi. Pats fans may have wanted them to give him the ol' Mike Tyson sucker punch, but that's not how those guys roll. That's not how this team rolls. At least in public.
And unfortunately, what Revis said was NOT said for laughs or as a joke. When you so much as imply that someone is a cheater, it isn't a game, especially with Revis knowing how raw that wound still is for this team. Once you jump on that bandwagon, the wheels are turning. You can't stop it from going down that hill; you've already pushed it down.
Revis would not add one iota of improvement to this team in 2017 or beyond that. It doesn't help matters when he says things like that either.
