OT: Jacksonville - are they a threat?

4-1 Team, nobody talking about them. A team that loves to find reasons to play with emotion and smash the living snot out of the opposition, clean hits, dirty hits, whatever it takes. That D has a tough personality. I'd be worried about key players getting injured.

Teams whose strength is running the ball and stopping the run do not scare me as much as teams that can rush the passer and throw the ball.

I have to agree with you. Screw conventional thinking. NE doesn't need to run, so stopping it doesn't matter too much. NE is strong against the run and weaker against the pass. The team that can pass and rush the passer is the biggest threat to NE.

I put Jax in Baltimore's basket, great D, but have always struggled with the offense. Gerrard is an upgrade, and Jones-Drew might be getting untracked, so that might make them more dangerous. Could be a contender, and a team with good enough D and running game to keep them in the hunt. In the end, Gerrard will have to be good enough to put points on the board if necessary.

But the strength of our D (especiall when 93 comes back) is stopping the run, and when the chips are down, we rely almost 100% on Brady on offense, so your analysis, while generally true, doesn't really apply here.

Fair enough. I was replying to a guy who said "All they can do is run and stop the run, nothing to be worried about there."

That's EXACTLY the team you have to worry about (if they can really do it... to you, to be specific.)

Now I agree, they probably can't, to US. But if you worry about a team, beyond the really talented Colts and possibly the resurgent Chargers, and of course (possibly) Pittsburgh, I'd put them on the list.

No way Jose! Indy is the only team that scares me.
