Wow, major blow to ST's. Feel bad for the guy, he's tough little SOB.

Ellis Hobbs will miss the season | ProFootballTalk.com

Most famous for giving up the game-winning touchdown to Plaxico Burress in the Super Bowl, Hobbs will bring 47 games of starting experience to free agency next year. (And plenty of quotes for the collection of reporters that cover him.) The Eagles could bring him back as a restricted free agent if there is no new collective bargaining agreement.

He's always hurt. He's made of glass.

Neck injury? Ouch. Anybody see the hit? I hope it's nothing serious.

I smell a "Hobbs sucks" vs. "Hobbs is awesome" debate coming in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Hmmmmm......

Hobbs woulds still be the #1 cornerback on the Patriots.

You're too late. Willie55 already beat both of us to the punch.

What a bummer for Hobbs! Hope his recovery goes well.

EDIT: Deleted because I suddenly realized I had a HUGE brain fart when I made this post...corner and safety...NOT the same thing...DUH!

Anyway, still....

Sorry to hear this for Ellis, though. Hope he can get well soon and be ready for next season!

BB would still put him on the field if he was in NE

Tough break for him and the Eagles. Even if our secondary is playing great, we still haven't really replaced his kick returning this year. Maybe Tate will down the road, but so far I've missed Ellis' threat to go the distance.

Best of luck to him in his recovery.

Just read a Reiss post that linked to Reid commenting, seems Ellis is having surgery that the doctors feel MAY allow him to continue his career...

Wow that sucks.

As bad luck we've had with injuries, certain guys like Hobbs/Branch/Givens were somehow alot more durable and productive with us than afterwards. Wierd.

Best wishes to Ellis Hobbs III. He is missed. May he continue to have a productive football career.

Yep, that was a scary, scary quote.

As much as Hobbs was a lightning rod here, he played hard, even when hurt -- and he's taken a lot of physical punishment without any big FA payday. I wish him the best.

that is unfortunate....

However, I did not appreciate how he talked BS about the Pats when he was given to Philly.

horrible injury.... get well Hobbsy
