Was Kevin Mawae again counting the votes for this "award"?
A Steeler fan was talking about this today and said it was all about other players that were not as good not liking the fact he was tougher and more hard-nosed than those other players. I responded by saying that was surely the same reason Rodney Harrison had won it in previous years.
Later another Steeler fan was telling me this was evidence that others are jealous and envious of Ward and the Steelers in general, because they are so good. I told him "you now have a taste of what it has been like to be a Pats fan for the last six years."
Not surprisingly I got a whole lot of 'that's different' in both conversations, though not much to back it up. That being said, it should go without saying that not only would I love for Hines Ward to have had a career with the Pats, but there are many others that are far more deserving of this 'honor'.
