OT: Henry Ruggs redemption?

If the Patriots signed him I would stop following them.
We signed Donte Stallworth in 2012 after he was convicted of DUI manslaughter. He killed a pedestrian.

So that team are you following?

And how many of you sanctimonious hypocrites have gotten behind the wheel after three drinks? There but by the grace of God.
False equivalency.

When I get behind the wheel on the street I never *NEVER* drive in excess of 150 mph, regardless of how many beverages I’ve consumed.

Wasn't that 2007?

Not that it matters

As for the thread, the Kraft family would never agree to it. Not after Hernandez.

That’s what I figured. And how many of you would stop watching the pats if they signed him.

To be fair the guy Stallworth hit was crossing the causeway, which is essentially a highway and wearing dark clothes. Ruggs… not so much.

I still prefer him to Tyreek.
Zero interest in bringing in Ruggs.

That being said the big differences are that Ruggs is apparently contrite and has faced some level of consequences for his crime.

Tyreek is an unapologetic piece of ****. Even if he didn't break his son's arm any man who says **** like "damn right he's afraid of me and you should be too" is absolute ****ing garbage.

How much did Henry weigh, 10 pounds? Because his blood alcohol content was .161, more than double the .08 standard for drunk driving. He was ****faced, and he was driving over 150 miles per hour, in the city. Get back to us when you have some idea of what the **** you are talking about.

Go read my posts about Stallworth when the Patriots signed him again, they're in here.

Sorry, as an nfl player, he's one button push away from having someone drive him wherever he wants for nothing.

You're attributing grace and charity to someone who has sought none, and deserves none, through his thoughts and actions at the time, and since. Not sure if it's just star****ing on your part or what, but there's always a few, including the op.

No. He’s being holier than thou under the guise of chastising those upholding morality as sanctimonious, while forgiving heinous behavior without even a nod that it was bad. Really tarred himself with his own brush, and it ain’t coming off.

Why is it that people like yourself don't understand that the situations were completely different.

There is a HUGE difference between doing 50, honking your horn, flashing your lights and the pedestrian not getting out of the way while doing 50mph and going 156MPH before slowing to 127mph and plowing into a car so badly that the person in the car burns alive.

You might want to check the facts so you better understand what your yapping about.

That was after he left the Patriots. I'm quite shocked they re-signed him when they were upset with Terry Glenn's multiple speeding violations during his time there.

None of these Gen Z football players have an excuse. They got their wish of having the option to push a buttons to get an Uber, Lyft, etc..

Ruggs being reinstated would be really bad for the NFL.

YOU are the sanctimonious hypocrite because you don't understand that 3 drinks means jack s**t in the scheme of things. Height, Weight, and body composition play a HUGE part in a person's blood alcohol content. Maybe you should do a better job understanding the situation before running your mouth because, as of now, you look like a self-righteous fool.

Henry Ruggs (5'11 / 188lbs) had a BAC of .161 and was had been driving at 156mph before slowing to 127mph when he plowed his Vette into the back of Tina Tintor's RAV4.

Donte Stallworth (6'0/220lbs) was doing 50 in a 40 mph zone with a BAC of .126. Stallworth Flashed his lights at the Pedestrian who was jaywalking at the time, but still hit the Pedestrian.

If you can't figure out that 10mph over the Speed Limit is significantly different than 77- 92 MPH over the speed limit, then maybe you shouldn't be commenting and calling people hypocrites.

So three is fine but 5 is bad. Got it. Hypocrite

Responding to these two posts because they seem the most logical. I guess.

Ruggs was bombed. By any standard. He had about 8 standard drinks in, assuming he pounded them all in an hour before he got behind the wheel. There is no way to make his actions seem ok. Folks arguing that this is holier than thou need to take a hard look at their own behavior.

He also clearly is still playing games. Not sure where the redemption line of thought comes from. He’s a piece of ****. Being willing to g to hand out stuff at a governor’s mansion rather than real jon in the prison system, just makes him lazy, not repentant.

All that said, he was at least drunk. Tyreek and Hernandez were sober when they did things that should have ended with them behind bars. They are all, however, chunks of crap I would rather not see in a pats uniform.

This thread is dumb. He’s a turd. Let some other fan base compromise their humanity to route for this guy.
