OT: Gambling and the NFL

Bump.

If some player really lost $8M in a year they have to be paid a LOT. Maybe a QB in the upper salary tier. Take your pick:
Not necessarily. A guy who lost that much money gambling may very well have been gambling beyond his means. The casinos are not shy about extending lines of credit to pro athletes.

Smart aleck? I thought we were playing a game. I mean, no one could possibly be so stupid as to believe the numerology B.S. you posted has any deeper meaning.
Wait? He was being serious? Not sarcastic or just "taking the piss" as our British brethren would say?

What's next? How away games have a deeper impact due to the flight paths on a flat Earth? Or is it lesser?

I never understood their opposition to gambling. Awful lot of money making opportunities.

Nothing happened to the NBA so I imagine nothing would happen to the NFL.
Tim Donaghy has a documentary out talking about his gambling... talk about making another profit..

Ask Michael Jordan... he'd agree

League is still more rigged than these. Lol

Not NFL related, but Iowa State also lost their starting QB to this same investigation. He was betting under his mom’s name while underage, including one ISU football game in 2021 when he was Purdy’s backup.

That article I read implied he was betting on average around $7.50 per bet.

Far be it for me to condemn others for gambling but geez.... $7.50 isn't worth ruining your life over....

For years there has been a casino directly across the Super Dome in New Orleans. They did not have a sportsbook, but that is changing across the country. It used to be that if you wanted to place a direct bet Vegas and Atlantic city were your only options.
So how did they handle you when you lost and wouldn't pay up?

Do you live across the pond where they like tea instead of coffee?

You can throw a rock in any direction and hit a tosser?
Tea is much better for a person's stomach than coffee. Many people think that drinking decaf coffee helps but it doesn't at all. The thing that irritates people's stomachs is the coffee bean itself. I learned this when I was having stomach pain about 40 years ago and a specialist told me just to stop drinking coffee. The problem has been gone since.

Always pay my debts except to cheating scum.
Sounds like you and your team are the ones getting in trouble for cheating on this bet

Right?
I think we can all agree there is no lower form of life than a welcher. The very existence of welchers degrades all mankind
