OT: Ever watch MNF with no sound?

You know something. I would pay above market rates for a featured channel that ran the game and the only audio was the crowd ambience. They give that to me accidentally when the booth audio breaks down and it's heaven. I wish they would just break it on purpose. The booth guys really add nothing.

Think someone mentioned that if you unplug/turn off the central speaker in your 5.1 setup you can get exactly that.

I have found over the years I have to watch most of the games with no sound.

If it's Chris Collinsworth the game goes to mute the moment I realize he is calling it.

I can usually stand 15 minutes of Nanz and Simms.

Im probably in the minority but I loved Joe Buck. Though to be honest, it seemed weird hearing him call a game and it not be baseball.

Interesting. Collinsworth and Michaels are one of the only broadcast duos I can tolerate listening to. So long as they aren't talking deflate gate.

I have no issues with a woman calling a football game, I could really care less. What I truly can't stand is her VOICE! It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. It's that nasely, long island whiney, toned voice that just shoots right though me. Its like they cloned Susan Waldman and the rest of the world is just asking WHYYYYYYY?

anytime the pats play, i mute it. That's pretty much every game the pats play. I just can't stand to listen to those idiots on TV

If I put the volume level at just the right setting I don't hear what the idiots are saying but I can still hear the crowd and the refs when they make a call. The ref's volume is usually a little louder than the announcers. Try it some time.

I once managed to get TNF on NYJFL* Network with raw sound and no commentary for like 15 minutes. It was glorious!

You can get that with just the right sound setting.

I've done that as well. Funny, my son hates it when I turn down or off the volume so we sometimes have to watch in different rooms.

Don't see the point of the gender discussion, don't know her voice. I do know that it would be funny to get Joe Namath liquored up and invite him to the booth. This does not imply that her value is purely her attractiveness from the male point of view. It is to imply that Drunk Joe Willy + women broadcasters = comedy gold.

Mmm. I don't have anywhere near that elaborate a setup, it's just me and a computer screen with built in speakers. But it's comforting to know that I might be able to do that if I ever start making a decent living.

It's a real dilemma I must admit, because Wrecks Ryan will be making his debut on color commentary. I'd definitely have the sound Off if either of those unfunny pigs Amy Schumer or Sarah Silverman was doing the call.

I won't be watching MNF at all this year. Downsizing from FIOS Triple Play to Internet ProPlus from Comcast. Get 45 channels and local sports (CSN/NESN) plus either HBO or Showtime for $65. No 200+ channels. No ESPN. No NFL Network.

I'm not sure I would like Tirico/Gruden much better/worse than this pair. I've never heard Mowins call a game.
