OT: Didn't BC BEAT NC yesterday?

BC beat NC in the ACC basketball tourney yesterday.

BC's season record is 26-6 today, NC's is 22-7

BC beat NC both times they played this year, both times in the state of North Carolina:

So why does this Sports Illustrated prognosticator have this, this morning?

OK, with all that, NC gets a #2 seed and would be in Greensboro, NC, while BC gets a 4 seed and has to go to San Diego?

Either this guy is woefully off, or the NCAA is fixed.

Not that I really care about BC basketball, I will say that I'd rather head out to SD then go to Greensboro. San Diego's weather is awesome.

It is based on the factors they use when they seed the tournament. They give heavy weight to the RPI, strength of schedule, how many of your wins are good wins - wins against the top 50, and how many bad losses you have - losses against teams not in the top 100. BC is lacking in 3 categories compared to UNC.

The Eagles only have 4 of what the committee terms good wins. They have a bad loss. They are only about 30th in the RPI and played the 115th best schedule.

Unc is 9th in the RPI and has the 12th toughest schedule in the country. They have 7 good wins and 1 bad loss.

You add in that UNC finished ahead of BC in the conference regular season and is the defending champion and you get UNC seeded higher than BC.
