OT: Did Peyton's jealousy of Tom cost Colts the game?

The Chargers and Jags are similar defenses (big guys who are about strength over speed), and the strength of the Colts and strength of the Pats are at QB (throwing to receivers). It's understandable that the games would be similar. I also think that Addai not being as fresh as Maroney meant that the Colts didn't have the same options on offense as the Pats did.

SD's and Jax's defenses aren't remotely alike.

Aren't Tom and Peyton friends, even having weekly phone convo's?

Maybe they'd like to put up a better performance (kind of a friendly comp), but I doubt either is jealous of the other.


It might seem like a novel concept, but a lot of NFL players on opposing teams actually like eachother...

Me and my friends are pretty competitive too. Folks trash talk FF. I can imagine a friendly phone conversation.

Peyton: Congrats on the game.
Tom: Thanks it was pretty sweet, highest completion record ever. First I break your TD record now this. Records are just made to be broken.
Peyton: And your records will be broken too.
Tom: Yeah someday, but I think they will hang around more than three years, unlike yours.
Peyton: Hey, your completion record it ain't lasting 24 hours. You are going down tomorrow.
Tom: Good luck with that.

Heck, I could hear me and my friends have that kinda of conversation about a game of checkers.
