OT: Chargers WR Parker likely out vs. Pats

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

parker would have been no better than #3 wr going into this year, so it's not really that bad

vj will be #1, floyd #2, davis #3

and you factor in gates and LT are the bigger threats anyway, and it's almost meaningless

you may as well claim we lost our best wr when we let keenan mccardell walk....hilarious

edit: in other words it's as if the pats lost welker

Less than three hours after a post on a Patriot's board, a Charger fan shows up. Isn't there anything else for these people to do?

Perhaps when we talk about their teams here, it is a sign of recognition that they long for, kind of like when the really cool guy at school stops to talk to you.

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

They'll be without the player who dropped key passes in the playoffs?

What a shame...

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

Vincent Jackson is there best WR, everyone knows that.

Awful argument.
Because Parker is bad it doesnt matter that you lose him is a poor argument when he is the best you have.
You need him a ton more than we need Welker because you have no one else.

Parker was your leading receiver at WR last year (and McCardell was #2).
On a team that couldnt figure out how to get the ball to WRs, you have lost the 2 best you had.
What's left?
Jackson caught a total of 27 passes last year and 30 for his career.
Floyd your #2 caught 15 and has 18 for his career. He would be about #7 or 8 on the Pats depth chart.
Before you get excited about Davis take a look at what happens to rookie WRs do.
You guys are in deep trouble at WR.

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

You shouldn't be saying stuff like this. Not only it is wrong, but you won't look like such a dork next month when you say, "Sure, you beat us, but we were without our two best WRs from last year, Parker and McCardell.

What is this based on? Last year Parker was the leading WR on your team.

....hilarious
Indeed.

in other words it's as if the pats lost welker
Umm, I would consider the loss of Welker to be a significant blow. Not saying we couldn't overcome it, but I wouldn't say Welker didn't mean anything, either.

No one is saying you are doomed, or that you can't win. Only that you have suffered a setback. Myself, I dislike to see injuries on teams with whiny fans, because I get tired of their excuses after they lose.

A Charger fan is now indistinguishable from a Raider fan. Totally fixated on the Patriots, and unable to accept that a few talented players cannot beat a team that plays like a team.

Whine, whine, whine. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. This will go one for a couple years, then they will fade into oblivion, and good riddance.

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

I think us losing Welker would hurt more than the Chargers losing Parker.

I would not underestimate Welker, I think he will be a more explosive version of a 2001 Troy Brown. He will be a key guy in the slot who I think will lead the Pats in receptions in 2007.

I disagree.
I think Welker is a better player and will be much more productive, but the Patriots have plenty of WR options to overcome a welker loss.
The Chargers are weak at WR even with Parker, and maybe th eweakest WR corp in the entire NFL without him.

With a young and unproven QB, I'd have to think that the loss of any veteran receiver is bad news for SD.

Re: ot: chargers wr parker likely out vs pats

I thought that was Caldwell.
this would be like caldwell getting injured for you guys last year, and a charger fan claiming "ne just lost their best wr on an average wr corp"
it's just laughable

sadly i know we have ******ed fans in our fanbase who would do that , just like you guys have your 'special' section

if i ever said you beat us because we didn't have parker, i'd give you permission to shoot me haha

do you guys even know the chargers at all? parker? check out their message board, i don't know one knowledgeable fan who wanted parker higher than 3rd wr this season...anyway everyone on earth knows gates is the 1 rec. threat...i thought you knew that too....

i mean you act like wrs are even that important in sd's offense, as long as it's just parker going down, no one really cares.

Too bad. Parker was one of the Pats best players in the playoff game.

yes but we make up for it with gates and LT, two things the pats are not even close to having

sure you have much better depth at wr on paper, but offensively we got it covered, and like we all know, parker was going into the season #3 at best

exactly , and so was mccree, but if mccree gets injured i'll actually call that a big blow

pro bowl is proof enough for me, and all his comeback wins, and the fact that he's not the one who choked in the playoffs, that was florence mccree and parker

so another offseason under his belt after what he showed in his first season starting, after what he's showed everywhere he's ever played, and with his background, things are looking very good for rivers

How is that laughable?
When you lose the best player you have at a position that is already weak, you have issues.
Without Caldwell, we would have had greater problems last year.

I dont understand your point. You lose your #1 receiver, have a bunch of nobodies behind him, and thats not a problem?
Do you think you dont need WRs?

Turner seems to be more concerned than you.

the point is, in NE you guys can lose a guy like moss, or last year caldwell, and not have great problems because you have brady who can make any wr look better than they are...this is a fact , and we can lose a guy like parker and not have great problems, we have gates and 2 to 3 wrs who were expected to start ahead of parker, not to mention LT

face it.......of all the skilled players on offense, parker was way down the list of guys we didn't want getting a 10 week injury

You can say that all you want, but Parker was your #1 WR. YOU have concluded all on your own that guys who were sitting on the bench behind him, and a rookie that has shown nothing are now ahead of him.
How can Floyd be an upgrade to Parker if all along Parker played ahead of him.

Go ahead and think that a RB and TE can make WRs unneccesary. You will be very disappointed.
