I wish for once that the greenies would do something useful and help stop abominations like this.

Agreed. But, unfortunately, a soccer stadium in the Rainforest is a drop in the bucket of the deforestation of the Amazon. One of the most depressing sights on the planet is to fly over the Amazon basin during daylight hours and see it from above. But, northern criticism of the Brazilian behavior in this regard is hypocritical since we create most of the pollution and waste most of the world's resources.
