OT: Brent Musburger to retire

I don't think there's a health issue since he has already announced he is opening a sports handicapping service in Vegas, but I have a sneaky suspicion it isn't a voluntary retirement.

Yep, and whomever replaces him will be peeing in someone else's Cheerios too.

Personally I doubt the retirement of one broadcaster proves or disproves the existence of God.

Why are people so invested in the person calling a game?

Do you also flip out when you find a different person taking your order at Dunkin' Donuts?

To be honest, yes. Coffee is a daily important ritual for me.

Brent M. felt like he thought he was bigger than the game he was announcing. He got out in front of it. Got in the way. You know, you're a sports guy. You know. That's all. Moving on.

Time for a good cup coffee from someone I just adore.

Thanks for the memories, Brent, especially for the NFL Today on CBS with Phyllis, Jimmy and Irv...



... that was must see pre-game TV for us football lovin' old timers.

This brings back a lot of memories from my youth/teen years. I used to watch EVERY pregame show, because there was no ESPN back in the day, so anything NFL, I watched religiously. So I loved these guys back then.

Who remembers NFL Films "This Week in the NFL" with Summerall and Brookshier, where they went over the prior weeks games, it was on Saturday nights. Used to love watching that with my Dad back in the day. I have a ton of that NFL Films music on my iPhone.

I used to watch the Super Bowl pregame show prior to the big game. Now that crap starts at 9am for a 6:30pm game, I don't watch one second of it.
