So . . . somebody had to ask.

Great. He'll end up back with the Jets. He was pretty good for them too. This sucks kinda.

DAMN.. I bet the Jets scoop him up.. or try to anyways..
Of course, the Pats DID just open up a roster slot by cutting Ventrone... *LOL*

I'd absolutely see what he has to offer. We need an outside threat.

1 year deal so it is up after this season, what does it hurt to grab him.

There is 1 regular season game left before the playoffs, not enough time.

Pass.

What makes anyone believe this drunkard has enough mental capacity to pick up this offense in 2 - 2 1/2 weeks?

Some people are out of touch with reality. How do people think that a guy with an injury is going to pick up the offense in a couple weeks when a healthy Ocho couldn't do it after a whole preseason.

Hmmmmmmmmm nope and it's not even close

He can't catch. Its that simple.

Way toooooo late in the season. Maybe if this was earlier in the year but definitely not now.

He was let go because he couldn't learn the offense in a lot more time than he'd have here.

Tough decision ...

He says he's rehabbing a knee injury to be ready for next season so if he was to sign for the Patriots it would be more to give him that extra time (rest of this season, the off-season + TC) to get ready for next season.

In fact that's probably what any team bringing him in would do at this point because it's far too late for him to have any effect this season especially with the injury.

Pick him up just to make him a captain against the Jets.

ok, in all seriousness, no. (although I mistakenly voted yes not on waivers)

Yeah, it will suck that he will be with the Jets to help them go to 8-8 and then become a free agent after that.

Edwards was decent with the Jets, but he has always been inconsistent. With or without him, I think the Jets lose this weekend.

BTW, I would pass on picking him up. He isn't all that good and probably wouldn't be effective this season and is a free agent after this season.

Also, what's the difference if they claim him off waivers or not. The guy is on an one year veteran minimum deal. The Pats will pay him the same amount if he is claimed off waivers or signed after he passes through waivers. And even if he wasn't at the veteran minimum, there is only one game left on his current contract.

The Patriots need a wide receiver.

The Patriots do not need this wide receiver.

Pass.

Yeah...Sure,lets sign him so we have TWO Ochocincos on our team that can't catch or synch with Brady
