Got this email this morning, and I signed up for it, and it seems to be a link that would work for everybody. This is a pretty good deal, and if you haven't been reading Andrew Callahan and Doug Kyed, especially some of the features that were behind a paywall, these guys are terrific and absolutely offer a lot of value:

It's $2 for 2yrs. So, for anyone who wants to be able to read whatever you want for the next two years, this is absolutely worth it.

That's insane! I do miss the days I'd enjoy reading the big newspapers in California (LA Times and OC Register) for news, weekly and season predictions and updated standings. I'd be reading them in before class started in High School in the late 90's-2000.

However, did the ink from the newspapers cause sinus issues for anyone else? I'd occasionally get allergy attacks from it. Ink would also get on my fingers.

How much revenue could they possibly hope to generate with this offer? Why not just make it free at that point?

I know you guys might not like Herald, but Callahan and Kyed are terrific. There were quite a few pieces of analysis they put out this season and during the playoffs that were outstanding.
I can watch them on Youtube.

You can (and I also watch them), but there were a lot of features they've both written that they don't get into on their podcasts. The same can be said for quite a bit of the stuff Christopher Price and Nicole Yang have done with the Globe.

Read the fine print. I did a similar deal with my local paper but after 2 years they automatically switch you to a subscription equal to a small mortgage unless you specifically cancel. Be aware.

Definitely. I added it to the calendar on my phone to look at it one day before it jumps to $19.95 per month in 2028.

Yep... it's $2 for 2 years (approximately 8 cents per month) now, but then after 2 years are up, it automatically converts to $4.99 PER WEEK (which is $259.48 a year, or approximately $21.62 per month).

So you go from $1 a year to $259 a year. Pretty big jump. Lol.

These guys are great at what they do and $1 a year for two years is a steal of a deal, just be aware of the auto renew.

Use a burner credit card and cancel it before the subscription expires.

This is why I use a virtual credit card that I set to lock one week after the initial transaction. That way when any attempt is made to charge the card when the trial runs out the charge will fail. Thank you CapitalOne! (I imagine other banks offer virtual cards too.)

Callahan has the most informative podcast on the Pats.

Before I delete this, for some reason it seems to still be available for anyone who hasn't taken advantage of it.
