OT: Bills interested in Gronk

Wouldn't at all be surprised if Gronk and Brady team up in Miami in 2023...Brady has a close relationship with Stephen Ross, and it's clear from the Flores lawsuit that Brady wanted to go to Miami a few years ago. Brady also had also been texting Sean Payton when he hit free agency in 2020 about going to New Orleans. I could totally see Brady, Gronk, and Sean Payton head to Miami after next season...

That move makes alot of sense for both sides, unfortunately. He would also boost their run game which would make that offense incredibly hard to defend.

We have to get faster and meaner on defense.
I said it before everything on defense needs to be reevaluated.

Gronk will play on a team with Brady, or he'll retire again.

Hey, man, sorry about that. My bad.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.

He's not the same Gronk that was here, and Buffalo doesn't have his binky Brady. While I wouldn't be shocked that he would play for his home team, I am not going to hand wring about it just yet. I can see him becoming very disinterested in being there come late November, when it's 33 degrees on a Monday Night, freezing rain and he's beat TF up from the season.

Maybe he is not as dominant as he was back then but the guy is still top 3 TE in the league at worst top 5. He was on pace to have a 1000+ yds season over 16 games. The fact that he hasn’t retired at this point tells me that He is feeling really good and still wants to play for somebody else than Brady or he knows that Brady will be playing somewhere next year.

A very good young QB on the verge to be Great with various release points could be quite tempting though.

Even though Gronk is not Great anymore he's better than anything here.

You guys aren't wrong, but I question how much he wants to play without Brady. We will see. He's still got a $5m dead cap hit this year for Tampa, so I am guessing they have to be interested in having him stick around.

That's not on Bill. Gronk chose to make a stink.
Huh?

BB controls the money. BB controls the manner that youre expected to conduct yourself. Gronk was so glad to get away from BB because the Patriot way was infringing on his life.

$5M is dead money and has nothing to do with Gronk's 2022 services.

If Gronk were to sign, TB would pay the new contract plus the $5M.

Gronk is a free agent. Anyone can sign him. TB has no advantage unless Brady is their QB.

BTW, Brady is NOT a free agent. If another team wants him, then they will need to make a trade with TB.

Makes total sense, he would still get a big check to be a complementary piece, it's a Superbowl ready team, only problem is the weather

I understand that. My point is they are already 5m deep, they may have a vested interest in getting some performance for it instead of just taking the hit. Follow me?

Classic Bill’s never to blame. Belichick refused to redo the contract in any meaningful way that Gronk signed even when his production far exceeded that contract. All the while Bill is sucking in twice what any other coach on the NFL is making. If I were Brady, Gronk or any other player Bill and Bob conned into taking less “for the team”, I’d never have anything to do with those two hypocrites and frauds ever again.

Gronk signed a contract. Once a player does that they lose any right to have a grudge against a team.

All players want to make more money.

Gronk's production did not exceed the contract value.

Correlate his games missed, his production and what he was actually paid.

Your position should change.

But Gronk did.

He beeched and complained after Shannon Sharpe pointed out that he got screwed. Not until BB was in the process of shopping Gronk did he end his jihad.

I dont hear about Gronk wanting to come back home to NE and play for the old coach. Nope, he may head to a Pats rival that looks to control the division for some time.

Gronkowski was the highest-paid player in the history of that position once the extension kicked in.
