I know a lot of people on this board feel threatened by Aaron Rodgers, but better to appreciate his greatness than buy into the hype of guys like Manning or, to a lesser degree, Luck.

Did you see those two passes in the final thirty seconds of the game last night? Sure, you can point to poor defense from AZ, but they rushed guys to make him rollout and throw from a nearly impossible angle. That throw on fourth and 20 was an absolute laser 50 yards down the field with almost no time to set his feet, while the throw to the end zone was just as impressive. Rodgers is the most physically gifted QB I've ever seen.

No reason to be insecure about Tom Brady's place among QBs...it's okay to just admit that Rodgers is another guy like TB who we should really appreciate while he is still playing and his prime. IMO, Brady (1) and Rodgers (2) are the two best QBs of this era.

He threw up a couple of Hail Mary's. That's about the least impressive thing any QB can do, and his recent play is getting ridiculously overhyped because of them.

And that's coming from someone who thinks Rodgers is tremendous.

I agree that Rodgers is the most physically gifted QB we've ever seen, and he can throw a Hail Mary like nobody's business. That's not enough to put him in Brady's class, though.

Brady wouldn't have needed the Cards to gift him that game.

Even after it was gifted the Packers couldn't pull it off. Rogers is starting to look like Manning 2.0 n the playoffs.

Rodgers is such a cool customer, I just really like the guy, regardless of his performance (which is usually excellent). He doesn't exhibit the fire that Brady does, but honestly to me that just makes him a more normal person. He'd be a lot of fun to have a beer with.

I agree! Rodgers & those Hail Mary's are a thing of beauty! He did all he could do to carry the Packers this season! I have a tremendous amount of respect his talent as QB though!

So is he supposed to play defense too?

well, he went to Cal

still can't believe he was able to even get that hail mary off with the blitz....and he threw it exactly where it had to be. Some call that lucky, I call it an incredible play.

No, but he's supposed to score more than 13 non-Hail Mary points.

Look, Rodgers is awesome ... when things are going well and he has the lead. But he's awful when he faces a significant deficit, and his play drops off of a cliff in the playoffs. Say what you want about Manning, but he's led a lot of big comebacks. In his prime, he was terrifying.

Rodgers is Manning, but without the clutch gene.

AR will go down as one of he best but last night before those final 2 passes I believe he was something like 22-42 1 Td 1 int.

he had no wrs

Most physically gifted QB but brady's the smartest and the goat

That's true of his generation, but there are a few of the younguns' (Newton, et al) who have physical gifts that far surpass Rodgers.

Most physically gifted qb I've ever seen. He's just not a warrior like Brady thats all.

He was fun to watch last night, that was about as clutch as you can get. Unfortunately in the playoffs, only winning counts. As great as he was, Fitzgerald stole the day....if only he was a patriots.

  1. Rodgers was just 24 for 44 and was missing open receivers all game
  2. He threw what could have been a devasting pick at the start of the 3rd quarter (picked off on GB side of the field, was bailed out when the GB defense picked Palmer in return) and was saved on a second INT/pick-6 by a hands to the face call that had no effect on the play
  3. He put up 13 points outside of the Hail Mary
  4. His only other TD came as a gift following an INT by the Cardinals and a 61 yard run by Lacey
  5. The defense only allowed 20 points in regulation, and got a pair of INTs off of Palmer

Rodgers is great, albeit with significant limitations. Last night's game was not a good one to point to if you're trying to convince people of his greatness, though.
