Orlando Pace cut!

I have no reason to think it but he does not seem to be the type of guy that would take a pay cut for a ring. And I definitely do not think he will sign to be anyone's backup.

Pace is not suited for the o-line schemes the Pats usually run. The Pats usually stay away from big body o-linemen. They usually go with smaller more agile o-linemen.

The Pats may break from the philosophy with Pace, but based on what they usually go for in an o-lineman it is doubtful they will be in the market for Pace. Especially since someone will probably offer him a big contract.

And especially when hes played roughly half of his last 48 games.

Made of glass, no intrest

alltho, if this was 1999, **** yeah i'd want him

Anyone who complains that Maroney is made of glass isn't allowed to want this guy.

Pace will not stay in the NFL to be a backup,Its starter or bust

I could be wrong, but Pace strikes me as one of those guys that will end up with a team that always seems to be up and down, constantly rebuilding; signed more because of his name, his size and his past than for what he can realistically be expected to produce next year. Players like him end up with the Jets but not the Pats; the Browns but not the Steelers; the Redskins but not the Eagles. Somebody somewhere will be persuaded to think 'if we sign him and he's healthy, he can play like he used to for a couple of years' - and before they know it, will be looking for his replacement.

Nope not interested. Only at vet minimum as he would be the training camp retiree.

Oh wait, you said UP and down.

Well said.

Especially since he already has a ring and all.

He's one of the best offensive tackles of all-time (behind maybe Munoz, Ogden, Gregg?), but I don't know if he has anything left or if injuries have caught up to him. And he's certainly not going to be a backup.

Ha Ha, good one! Add the Raiders to that list too; we know how Al loves to overpay for declining veteran free agents.

Yeah, I probably should have said 'more down than up', or something like that.

I'll pass. This guy has got a ton of mileage on his knees and ankles. He's pretty much an old dump truck that some old man keeps in his back yard and only drives once every three months to go to the dump.
