Old Friend Jakobi Meyers reportedly wants out of Vegas

At this point of us he might be more of a progress stopper than anything else. Mainly posting this to once again take a victory lap about my claim that Juju was not an upgrade.

Meyers and a 4th for Jennings?

I can’t believe I’m about to say this……. While we don’t have elite talent at the top, WR might be one of the “deepest” spots on the roster, in terms of WR #6 actually being NFL roster quality (which isn’t the case at a few other positions).

While I wouldn’t say no to a reunion as I’m sure he could help out, I’d rather they focus on filling out the roster at places where the depth isn’t NFL roster quality at this point (IOL, RB4, FB, TE3, LB).

when he hits free agency next year, we should give him a call

I don’t see a place for him now. Last year yes, this year, no.

Is he drastically different than what's here now?
Will he sign an extension so they aren't trading assets for a rental?
Who get's moved out if he's dealt for?

All of these are good points. But I love Jakobi!

Raiders are not doing a deal with the Patriots for a few reasons.

1. The conference
2. The optics of Brady dealing with New England.
3. The McDaniels thing.
4. Pete Carrol was embarrassed with the biggest coaching blunder on the biggest stage.

I doubt it happens unless Josh is making a big case for him but I wonder which is more beneficial, Boutte and Hollins and their having had a pre-season working with Josh’s current system or Meyers understanding of Josh’s previous system but having to learn the current one with only two weeks to go. Is a change worth it?

1. The conference- They can’t eliminate half the league if the best deal comes from an AFC team. Division maybe but not whole AFC.
2. The optics of Brady dealing with New England-he’s a 5% owner FFS. He isn’t running the team
3. The McDaniels thing-Again…don’t overestimate this stuff. It isn’t middle school.
4. Pete Carrol was embarrassed with the biggest coaching blunder on the biggest stage…Pete isn’t a 12 YO girl, and by that logic he wouldn’t be “working with” Brady.

All that said, I never thought Meyers was special. Probably would trade Bourne, Polk, or Baker straight up but that’s it.

I'm interested but at the same time he'll be a free agent at the end of the season. If the Pats somehow still have a need at WR2 in 2026 despite having Diggs, Hollins, Douglas, Boutte, Williams, Chism, and Polk under contract then yeah, call Meyers up.

If this is how he is thinking, I think we see why him and the Raiders aren't on the same page.

The Raiders aren't one 28 year old WR2 away from making things happen, especially not one thinking he should get $60M for two years.

We have an opportunity to get a 1000yrd receiver who knows the offense, under 30, is at a reasonable salary that we know with plenty of cap space available.

Our WR1 is coming off an ACL and our WR2-5 have not produced at a high-level. We have depth in bodies but not in talent.

Our TEs are old and thin.

As long as they are not asking for 1st or 2nd rounders, this is a no brainer.

I appreciate that perspective as well. One in the hand worth two in the bush, etc etc.

Our Jacobi has gone and grown up and become an elite receiver, in his and his representation's opinion, at least.
