Maye has helped the OL immensely by making quick deciosns and getting the ball away.

Every so often Maye holds the ball too long and something bad happens.

When a top 5 QB "holds the ball too long" the receivers get away from coverage, save the QB and great plays happen.

We have an NFL quality OL (perhaps almost average) TODAY. I think that Marrone can continue to perform with our top 7 OL's (and Lowe is OK as our #8 (a #4 and swing OT). I think that if we had a veteran backup LG on the 53 (Strange is an example), we would be average today.

There is a place on the team for a veteran or two who are likely here for only 2-3 years. Everyone doesn't have to be a youngster. We have Bradbury and Moses (and perhaps Onwenu).

Last year we had Onwenu, Brown and no one. We added FOUR starters all of which are playing well. But folks think that this is nowhere near enough. IMO, this OL, as it stands TODAY is good enough to be the OL of a playoff, divisional or SB contender. We won't lose because of this OL. But, sure, we "need" to add another and another next year. But, perhaps, Bryant is a possible future starter at RT. We're likely to be good enough to be OK at RT (with Moses here) for another year. If Bryant is a future starter, we might consider that we have a future OL in Campbell, Wilson, Brown, Onwenu and Bryant. Yes, we should prioritize drafting OL's to greatly improve over our bottom of the roster OL backups, especially a backup for Onwenu. Alternatively, we can find a younger $10M-$15M a year RG to replace Onwenu.

That's a good stout limb.

I'd love to know how they landed Marrone. Looking at his bio I don't see a connection to Vrabel - other than the year at BC and Vrabel's kid - but Tyler Vrabel graduated in 2022 and Marrone was at The Heights in 2024. Through 4 games, Marrone looks like he could be one of the best "FA" signings in a very long time. I don't think it's a coincidence that whatever football person made the overtures to sign Marrone, did so with the intent of "not ****ing up" the #4 pick in the draft. Also betting the Pats were taking Campbell no matter what happened.
Perhaps Marrone came at the recommendation of Bill O'Brien to Vrabel, as Vrabel was on Mr. 1-3 at BC's staff in Houston....
Whatever the reason, Marrone was a great hire.

McDaniels' offenses seem to excel in pass protection. I wonder how much improvement comes from the scheme.

Happy to see them functional. And consistent personnel-wise.

It takes a lot to adapt to NFL line play. It doesn't seem like they learn a lot in college outside of "block for a few secs while your QB hits a quick pass for YAC"

I'd like to see how well we block in Buffalo, especially for the run game.

Maye actually gets a little credit on avoiding some sacks showing some nice savviness in the pocket.

I'd say they are doing about as I expected. Campbell is a huge improvement over last year (how couldn't he be?) but it's been the right side that seems to be having some of the bigger breakdowns.

The Panthers game may be them turning a new corner though - and I absolutely endorse the "good coaching" of the OL staff taking a bit of a Frankenstein personnel and getting them on the same page.

There will be more investments in the OL next year that will make them even stronger

I personally think they are Paper, that can be torn badly by a good team.
We're a GOOD TEAM, we SHREDDED Pittsburgh (3-1) and lost because of idiocy..we whooped them.
Let's see in Buffalo, I hold more hope than many, Buffalo isn't a juggernaut.

Yep - Marrone can pretty much coach any position from the looks of it.

Klemm worked his way through the college coaching ranks and back to the NFL, and is probably a good coach to be working with some of the rookies. And hey, as BB's first draft pick (bit of a reach to be honest) I'll always be pulling for him.

Paper might be a little harsh but they aren't a juggernaut.

I think we can get after them with a 4 man rush. Obviously especially Barmore and Williams up the middle. I think our Corners are better than their WRs. Their TEs will likely frustrate us because it seems to be a weakness for us and a strength for them. But if we can then keep Allen from killing us with his legs we should have a decent chance to beat them.

On offense the matchups might favor us too. Just need the confident Maye we've seen so far this year and it should be a good match.
