Folks whine that we have too many picks (8 in 1st 4 rounds) but we really could use, in no particular order...

A DE (Warren might not recover)

An OLB

An OG (Mankins departure & Neal retirement)

An OC (our guy is a bit smallish for the position)

A power RB

An OT (if we don't pay $ Light)

Another CB

And maybe a deep threat WR but hopefully not

A FB takes plays away from one of our great TEs and WRs.

Edelman, Gronk, Crumpler, Hernandez, Welker, Price, Tate

That's 7 players for 4 slots.

Add a FB, and now you have 8 players for 4 slots.

I don't see it or like it.

1. A FB can be a pass catching target, can be a blocker in the I-Formation, and can be a blocker in 3 WR sets.

2. I don't see Crumpler remaining here after this season.

3. In Crumpler's absence, Gronk can and will be the blocking TE we need.

4. A true FB that can explode through the hole and take out a MLB improves the running game a bit more than having a TE will.

If getting a mauling offensive lineman in the draft is a priority, why don't they sign Mankins and save themselves a draft pick?

Even if they sign Mankins, we'll still need to draft at least one interior lineman to take over for Koppen and/or replace Neal.
