Just watched. Nothing to defend offensively.

That said, I think the league hates New England with the fire of a thousand suns.

The “leverage” call on the FG was absurd. The Henry hold on the Zeke 73-yarder was garbage, as was the Jackson PI on the last possession, as was the Mafi hold on the last NE drive.

EDIT: And I forgot to mention the two spots. Raiders threw over the middle near the sticks, the TE (I think) got blown up and did not get the first down. They gave it to him.
Patriots get a close one for a first down, they spot it back half a yard and take it away. As much as I see KC getting ever possible break, I see NE getting hosed on every close one - and it's been going on for years now. Two years ago, they lost two games on bad calls. It hasn't gotten better.

Garbage officiating.

The Pats stink. Mac absolutely blows - he can’t see **** before the snap. Threw another big pick and luck prevented a pick-6 that would have ended the game.

Down 2 scores and he’s taking 35-45 seconds on his 9+-minute drive late in the 4th.

Blow it up. If BB needs to go, so be it. This team is unwatchable - again. I know they’ve had a ton of injuries, but their play is simply inexcusable at this point.

And where the %**% is Boutte? Jesus.

A simple google search:

Cash spending is all that matters. Cap is total BS for owners to cheap out.
Can you name 1 highest paid player in the league at any position on the Patriots in the last 20 years? Who gets paid on this team besides Bill who makes $20mill/year? Judon for example? He gets paid 14mill/yr. Contrast that to K Mack for instance who makes 23mill/year. We have no #1 nfl stud receiver and never have. Dumpster diving works when you have Tom Brady. Call it a combination of cheapness and roster mismanagement with various special teams guys getting drastically overpaid and no player making substantial money in any of the positions that truly matter in the NFL-QB, LT, CB, WR, etc.
I'm not a cap expert and don't really track it. And I understand cash vs accrual accounting. But in the end, averaged over a number of years, cash and cap/accrual spending match up. Tell me where I've got this wrong.

People can blame Mac all they want (and he certainly isn't blameless), but no QB could make this offense good. There is no talent beyond maybe Bourne and Henry.
We don’t need a QB to make this offense good. That’s where all Mac apologist are wrong .

We just need a QB that make this offense decent enough to win games and they are a lot of them in the NFL.

Fortunately for Mac and unfortunately for the team no other QB on this team is better than him. Which says a lot since he is one of the worst and most inept QB in the league

We understand that you simple don't care. Mac could have completed the pass, and won the game and he still be the worst ever, having not improved over the debacles of the last two weeks.
======
OBVIOUSLY, this team cannot compete at a playoff level with this OL. There is no reason to add QB (or WR).

It is negligence for Jonathan not to approve a trade for an OT who will play for the next 2-3 years. There will no better way to spend a 2nd round draft pick in the off-season. Consider this terrible team today. Would a better than average RT made any difference?
Who is trading away a good tackle? I'd love to know. RT would obviously make a huge difference. Just dont know of anyone giving them away.

You say there's no reason to add a QB or WR. When you drop down as low as we're about to drop, it's like your only chance to find a good QB. Hopefully this chance doesn't come around again.

If they don't find a good QB when they're picking at $3, they're never going to find one. That's why you pick a QB when you're this high up, unless you already have one

Maxx Crosby is an All Pro quality player, but he is All World when multiple guys fail to even try to block him like that.

BTW, why was Lowe starting? More importantly, why is Lowe still employed in the NFL?
He still had time to throw there. And Rham was open. Gesicki would've been wide open if the idiot didn't fall down.

Yes, I struggle to understand the idea that we need a stable guy until we draft the next guy. When you look at the draft, I can't think of anyone who has really turned out well after the 18-22nd pick other than Lamar Jackson.

Seems difficult to find QBs there. QBs always seem to get elevated into the top 10 even if they're not very good.

7 wins gets you the 14th pick, is that what we mean by stable?

In any case, if the Patriots pick around 3rd, they better take a QB if one of the top 2 are available, or trade up for the 1st pick.

Mafi and Lowe can't be playing anymore. Someone needs to figure out how to get them off the field.

Or at least have them switch positions with each other. Mafi looks even worse at Left Guard than Onemenu did in 2021; and the Sow looks completely out of his element on the Right side, Egg-zactly as he looked at Right Tackle during TC & preseason.

That was at least 3 seconds - a QB, in their end zone, should never hold the ball that long.
Holy crap - I got 3.23sec twice in a row. You're absolutely right there. Gisecki's falling down destroyed that play. He could've gotten 8 to10 easy to set up 4th and 5-7.

I feel like this team could probably succeed to some extent if Bill was just the coach, and there was a separate GM and the whole scouting department was overhauled. But I just really doubt that will happen...

If Bill truly cared about the T-E-A-M then this is Exactly what should happen.

The fact that Onwenu was active today but didn’t play tells me he’s probably getting traded. And if he’s getting traded, they’re selling, so they’re probably trading a few guys. And if they’re selling, what does that mean for the franchise long term? Does Bill get the best value knowing he may not be here to use the picks? Is Bill even able to decide who gets traded? What if he wants to trade someone like Bourne but Kraft likes Bourne? Lots of questions.
trading folks in their last year makes sense no matter who is coaching next year

If it continues on this trajectory Bill is gone and Mac is either gone or a place holder for a rookie QB we draft.
OK

nothing to do with defending Mac. It's having the patience to try and allow him to work through these issues. My reasoning isn't because I love Mac or care beyond the fact he's the current quarterback. My entire reason is simply the fact I'm trying to avoid the churning of quarterbacks that set us back years
Mac has the same issues for the last two years. He had enough time to work through them already.

Mac already set us back. You can only go up
From there. Honestly shouldn’t be difficult to find a QB better than him.

You can replace Mac and this still isn't an NFL caliber offense and are still losing games.

Maybe we get less picks as another QB maybe doesn't force it. (Although they probably throw a couple )

But no one is making the OL block better stop taking penalties or Parker/Bourne/juju elite receivers.

The roster is poorly constructed with no talent due to ignoring offense or whiffing in the draft. It's going to take years to rebuild this offense with the pieces to compete or build around.
they would lose game with another QB too just not as much as with Mac.

Jakobi Myers has more catches, tds, and yards than Juju Sanu and Davante Parker COMBINED

The Meyers-JuJuSanu swap, the extension of Dorothy Parker & the Failure to sign Hopkins should be the Final nails in the coffin of this dead regime...
And drafting Jake the Newest Fake Andrews instead of Dawand Jones too.

We have the money to sign Onwenu.

We don't know much about Sow and Mafi because they're rookies, but in any case, they should be backups behind Strange and Onwenu

And in that order too.

Sow should've been at Left Guard and Mafi at Right Guard.
