On almost all of these, he throws his head backwards to fake like his head got hit, knowing the league is extremely sensitive about hits to the head. This is definitely some LeBron level stuff, maybe worse

Hope he's ok. Looked rough...

My team is probably going to get the 1st pick in the draft. You guys would destroy us.

not sure if this was brought up.......did Josh Allen actually ever break the plane on that final Bills TD?

more time on the clock at that point was a good thing, but replay from above looked like he never got in.....

Nah! He crossed the plane. Maybe not when he first fell, but he definitely did when his FB pushed him over the line. He never touched the ground nor did they blow the whistle before he crossed the line. I don't think there was any question on whether he got the TD.

Snap counts. TT with only 3. I wonder if it's an injury thing or just wasn't part of the gameplan.

A lot of folks highlighted this but my immediate thought is just that they weren't looking to throw deep much because of the wind. They were really just focusing on the run and short/intermediate passing, so Thornton's speed wasn't that necessary and it made sense to let him rest up a bit and give more reps to Pop and Reagor who was on his final elevation to get a better evaluation on him.

I just don't like how sometimes they blow the play dead after 1 second on these goal line scrums and then other times like this they let the play develop forever and let the OL push and smush and gain any advantage they can. I agree that if Allen hadn't touched down then the play shouldn't have ended, but we've seen so many calls for "forward progress stopped" over the years that you'd think they should've blown the whistle after a few seconds here.... but they did not. Ultimately it worked out for NE in the end but the inconsistency is maddening. If they blew the play dead, it would've been 4th and goal and the Pats may have been able to win on a defensive stop instead of needing a TD drive.

The Bills are an aggressive defense. Whether there is wind or not, the short passing game was always the way to go. You want to use their aggression against them. That is usually with a short quick passing game with a lot of screens and slants.

My guess is that they saw him moving forward right away after he fell and let him keep going until he crossed the line. If he fell and just laid there, they would have just blown the whistle. It may be more excuse making to explain away the lack of consistency, but that is my guess on how they determine when to blow the whistle.

yeah, i saw that view.....later they showed an overhead view and it looked like he got folded up and never made it across.....

I took a screen shot. There is no way he didn't cross the goalline unless he was bent in half.

that's exactly what i am saying......the overhead view show him bent in half lol.....it was on the TV broadcast as they cut to a commercial or something, they only showed it once

Assuming you are right. There is no way to see it from the ref's level and I am guessing an overhead shot cannot show exactly where the ball is to give clear undisputable evidence that he didn't cross the line.

His first contract with the Pats was for one year. When that expired this past March, he signed a new two year contract.
Ok thank you for the explanation I kept thinking it was for 1 yr

Cunningham and Greer are next up.

Great call
2-0 last year. What a throw at the combine. No wonder he’s going in the HOF.

Allen made it over on the replay.
