Is it a coincidence that a former DC that benched a starting CB during a SB, is now an OC and is doing the same w/ one of the best WRs on the team? There's a reason why players hated him in DET. Stafford alluded to not wanting to play for him. Now, we've heard of issues or lack of motivation by our 2 starting tackles (his OL) & a good WR (his O). Sorry but this dude is a problem.
Stafford was carried last year. He's not even top 10

I wasn't doing any analysis since neither are you. You're just making stuff up to make yourself feel better about a terrible performance.

Just pointing out to a delusional Pats fan that most of the Pats fans that were actually at the game didn't view the performance the way you do.

BTW, Miami had one less possession, so you're wrong about that also.

The fact is that despite Bill bringing to team down to Palm Beach to practice 5 days before the game, it was McDaniel that had his team better prepared and ready to perform. It was embarrassing.

First quarter, and the Patriots are moving the ball a bit. They've gotten to the Miami 40 and have a first and 10. What happens? Jones is taken down back at the 47, and the drive stalls.

But it was just 2 big plays, you see.

I think it's funny that they're acting like it was such a gutsy call. I wouldn't call it gutsy, I'd just call it smart. He saw Phillips go out with an injury, realized the immediate solution had them out of position (Bentley was back in coverage as well on that play [not good], with Mills in a bad match-up and Dugger playing deep - and Dugger ended up taking a bad angle on the play after Mills got beat) and took advantage.

Had the injury to Phillips not happened, he probably would have handled it differently. But it was just smart. He smelled blood and knew they'd convert, although I doubt he expected the touchdown.
PFT gonna PFT, though the underlying idea that McDaniel wasn't overwhelmed is part of the story. And, if the Dolphins had really been playing as bad as some here are implying, that would be an absolutely crazy call to have made there. But the reality is that you're right. It was a smart call under the circumstances. It was a coach taking advantage of an opportunity, and it was a great call against a team that had the wrong guy playing back.

No, that post is embarrassing.

We lost the turnover battle 3-0. There's the game. Has nothing to do about being prepared. One or two plays and it's a different game. Did we play great, no, but it wasn't like it was a mismatch. It was an evenly played game except that we had the turnovers. Plain and simple.

The rumor I've heard is that this all started with Bourne because he doesn't like the coaching staff, Bill trading for Parker and drafting Thornton in the 2nd round and Bill pushing to get his ROI with Agholor and Smith.
Not happening both have too many deficiencies that said nice to see Jonnu Smith making some plays in Game 1 he needs to be on the field more. We need to get a consistent package of good players who can make plays.

Wait, so you think that a team losing the TO battle 3-0 is a team that's better prepared because that's what my post said. McDaniel's team was better prepared. Clearly.

Mac Jones is really good at selling the play action and it also covers for weaknesses in the o-line. I am surprised they don't use it more. But that was a criticism I had of McDaniels last year too.
McDaniels was also famous for having bolden in short yardge situations and getting stuffed. And i like McDaniels. so this isnt an OC thing. Its some weird pats thing.

and a terribly blown no call

From what I remember, Brady was 8-10 against the Dolphins in Miami. So it's not like we were owning the Dolphins every year in their stadium in years prior.

I would be surprised if the Steelers beat the Pats. They lost Nagee Harris and they have nothing else on offense really. This should be a win, then you can chill out your pessimism for a week
Brady has nothing to do with this team.

People keep trying to justify Mac Jones awful play by rationalizing that the Pats were not winning in Miami anyway. Trubisky isnt going to the HOF just like Tua and look what Tua just did. I have no faith in Mac Jones coming back from a big deficit.

Turnovers don't always have to do with being better prepared. For example, the bad throw that Tua made that should have been intercepted by McCourty, was broken up by Myles Bryant. Is that being better prepared? No.

How about the int that Mac threw in the endzone where Parker was interfered with and there was no call. Was that being better prepared, I don't think so.

Lol, that makes it worse that he doesn't want to play for Patricia.
Patricia was not a good head coach.

But I'm not taking a loser's word on disciplinary measures.

And another thing: who TF is Kendrick Bourne to say any of this stuff? He's not an all-pro. He didn't do anything in SF. If he's our best WR, it's because we don't have very good WRs.

He should pipe down. This is ridiculous.

Patriots fans pining after K Bourne.

Attempting only 2 PA passes isn't on the OC?
Benching (2 snaps) one of your more productive WRs isn't on the OC?
Just those two decisions could've had an influence on the anemic O performance.

Charlie Weis was famous, or infamous, for his FB draw play on third downs even if it was 3rd and five plus. Yes, there is something about the play calling on this team that was passed on from generation to generation.

But that doesn't address the lack of play action.

They scored SEVEN points!! SEVEN!! That is winning you exactly ZERO GAMES in the NFL!

In fact, the offense let up seven points so that is akin to being shut out!
Just like last year, the defense could not get off the field towards the end of the game. Miami just ran out the last 5 minutes of the game.

Watching Shaq Mason road grade last night, while Owenu and Strange were getting run over made me sick. You will never justify those moves to me, NEVER! Strange is not a first round talent, not even close!

The Pats are extremely lucky that TJ Watt got hurt, but this is going to be a long season.
It is infuriating.... Same mental mistakes

Triumph to Mac's credit its not like he's playing with a full deck so I'm going to reserve judgement. It's said that he's improved I didn't see that yesterday after the Int but I had my blinders on.

I'm not sure we should be placing Bourne's snap count on the shoulders of the OC.

That's one where if I'm Belichick I ask the league for clarification because if that's not holding at the very least then I'm instructing my DB's to do it on every play.
Yeah.. I said that during the Game Thread. I still can't figure out WTF the side judge was looking at. That's such blatant DPI.

There was a play where Ingram wrapped Harris up with his arm completely around Harris' helmet to take Harris down.

And on one of the punt returns, it sure looked like Bethel Johnson took Bryant down by the nameplate. That used to be horse collar.
