A QB sneak will ALWAYS work if Godchaux is at nose tackle. Imagine a nose tackle with zero football strength at the point of attack.

.

They ran one with Carl Davis at NT, too, and that was just as successful.

Takeaway: they are built like I thought we were. excellent run game, burn clock v burn clock with a lead...

Wentz played with a toughness that if Mac doesn't develop will render him average at best.

Rhamondre didn't show up in the stats, but it didn't appear to be his fault........ wish they maybe explored throwing to the rbs some more.

Can't have Henry be your weapon. Not clamouring for a deep threat yet, but if you take away the run game and bourne... that's it.

We need an Edelman

$23m? They are our two largest cap hits currently. And they won't be re-signed.
That's false. Hightower doesn't have a contract next year, but that doesn't mean they are saving money. It's already been spend on Godchaux and Judon.

McCourty has 3 void years that total 6.45M that will be hitting the cap.

Jones just didn't have the time on that one. That was one of the more slow-developing trick plays I've seen in a while. Great call, just wasn't executed as well as it could have been.

Jones can sneak a look as the play develops. After the play they showed Jones grabbing his helmet because he knew he chocked. Jones had 1 read and missed it - it happens, he is a rookie. It did develop too slowly but Mac could have still hit his 1 read. You may be off base on this one. You might want to watch the play again.

My response was coherent and makes PERFECT sense if you knew a damn thing about the Salary Cap, McCourty's contract and the void years that were added. Maybe you should focus on the game that was just played and this season instead of next season. Then you wouldn't have to worry about being called a TROLL for posting such an asinine comment.
Nah, it didn’t. See my response to Bruin to explain. And I did my own cap research to answer my own question after seeing your non answer.

And I’m also focused on this game as well as other big picture things. Believe it or not people can carry more than one thought in their mind and carry multiple conversations.

Strongly disagree at least pertaining to Pats DLine. Look at the 4th quarter. Lawrence Guy makes a superhuman play on 3rd down stopping Godchaux's gap assignment because Godchaux is always blown off the line. Didn't matter as the Colts ran again on 4th down right at Godchaux and got it.

It's so easy to game plan and just say, where is Godchaux lined up? Run it right at this schmuck. Every single time.

270 yards, 100 yards, 220 yards given up the last 3 games.

.

You can "disagree" all you want, doesn't mean you know WTF you are talking about. Pats D-linemen have 2 gap assignments. This means that they will OVERLAP assignments. Godchaux isn't "always blown off the line". That's you making s**t up the way you always do.

BTW, Skippy, who was the Patriots OC in 2012 when they ran the 2 TE set as their primary offense?

Considering how absolutely dreadful your football knowledge is, you shouldn't be calling ANY football player a schmuck unless they've broken the law.

MIA 6-7 - NYJ, @NO, @TEN, NE
BUF 7-6 - CAR, @NE, ATL, NYJ
NE 9-5 - BUF, JAX, @Mia

of any of these three teams, The Patriots have two difficult games in Buffalo in Miami and Miami has two tough games with Tennessee and New England. I am not impressed at all by New Orleans and I think Miami could wax them. Buffalo has cupcakes with Carolina, Atlanta and the Jets all at home. The division is not over by a long shot

How come we never hear about a couple bad practices after a win? Only after a loss.

Please spare me, fewer things make me roll my eyes more after a loss than players saying that.

And if the Patriots managed to win the division, they will be looking at playing at Kansas City, at Arizona, and either Indianapolis or Tennessee at home as these are the three games that will be determined by where the team finishes in the division

Also how come the Pats get credit for showing resolve but coming up short but the Bills don’t? The loses were pretty damn similar for both team.

Because, maybe ... just maybe, poor practice precedes poor games, and good weeks of practice leads to victories.

Nah, can't be that.

Yes let's keep this going, with a homer who kept digging a hole claiming NKeal Harry was good and that the Pats draft well at receiver.

The Pats defense gave up 220 rushing yards tonight. Even in the Bills game gave up 100 rushing yards. The game before that gave up a BB worst 270 rushing yards. Stop making crappy excuses. The run defense with weak links Godchaux and Bentley SUCKS.

They weren't comparable games, IMO.

Buffalo lost the turnover differential 1-0, not 3-1. Buffalo didn't give up a special team's touchdown. And if I remember correctly, Buffalo didn't jump offside and spot Tampa 3 points that they otherwise wouldn't have gotten.

The Pats, OTOH, ran 13 more plays than Indy, had 5 more total first downs, and gained 90 more total yards. The Pats lost the game because they lost the turnover battle 3-1, gave up a special-team's touchdown, spotted the other team 3 points due to a penalty, and committed 8 penalties for 50 yards compared to Indy's 2 penalties for 13 yards.

Low energy to start the game...mental mistakes, physical mistakes, a couple of bad rookie QB reads...surprised our Pats didn't get run out of the stadium. Post game Mac related that the team had a real bad week of practice. This team CANNOT afford to make the mental and physicals mistakes it made tonight and expect to go anywhere in the playoffs. The focus right now is MAKE the playoffs and to do that they need to re-focus and cut out the mental errors. Indy really needed this game and they showed it, especially in the 1st half where they bullied the Pats all over the field. I liked how they battled back and I thought for sure they'd make a stop at 1:58, 2nd down and 8. Haven't seen the slo-mo replay yet of what happened on the line except that the safeties were up in the box to STOP the run, and he hits a crease. I want to SEE what happened along the line on that play...I have my suspicions.

I'm not going to chicken little and cast blame and aspersions like some particular football morons in this thread. I'm looking forward to the Buffalo game. It's all right in front of this team and I expect a much better performance from them. I hope the WR's coach is on Agholor all week to run all out every play. He pizzes me off.

Btw, I can’t believe that abomination of a hit on Harry was not a 15 yard penalty. Looked like something out of 1983 and it was a black eye to the officiating tonight.

Harry’s big reception was a big time play for him tonight. Hopefully he can build off of that and increase his success as a blocker to the receiving side of the game.
