There is a reason he was sitting there at 15 for us. He lacked the physical talent of the other 4 QBs. I do think he can improve because his body was so bad coming into this season.

Brady improved his arm strength. No way he had Bledsoe’s arm in 2001. He worked like a dog at it. He still does.
Moses Cabrera can prescribe a series of exercises to improve overall body strength, including arm strength. That’s something Mac needs desperately; he looks like an ordinary college kid so there’s a lot of room for growth. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mac work with Tom House during the off-season.
As bad as we were today, we were one 3rd & 10 stop from getting the chance to have a game winning TD drive. They way some of the pink hats and Brady ballwashers are going on you'd think we'd lost 50 to zip. Lest we also never forget that Josh Allan was regarded as a complete bust after his first season. Perspective.
I didn’t see anyone complaining about Mac’s arm during our 7 game win streak. Suddenly it’s an “issue” on this board, and it’s coming mostly from the Bradyite crowd.

Much better competition than on the road? Saints (who swept the Bucs so that loss doesn’t look so egregious now), Bucs, Cowboys at full strength, Bills. The only crappy loss was the Dolphins.

I think when the QB is having his hand held and asked to throw only 3 times in a game that tells you where he’s at right now.
As much as I wish they were a Super Bowl contender this year the last two games were a reality check. That is playoff level competition and to win the SB we’ll have to win 4 games in a row against that level. We’re not there yet but I’m confident we will be soon, I believed going into the season that we were a year and another good draft away from being a contender and our window would begin to open in 2022. Still seems that way and no shame in that at all.
Look at last season we were bad and had no reason to think we’d be better anytime soon and maybe it was time to move on from BB. We made a big step forward from that and no matter what happens these last 2+ games this off-season I think we’ll take another one.
I actually think Jones biggest problem right now is the cold. He was really accurate throughout the season, but was way off last night, with many of his throws sailing high. We had a really long and warm fall, and even though it wasn’t really cold by New England standards yesterday it was one of the coldest days he has ever played in. Like many other factors he has to adjust to he will have to adjust to playing in cold and winter playing conditions.
We started the year off recognizing that this was a rebuilding season, many of us with the hope that they could play well enough to make the playoffs and get big game experience, and overall that seems to be what is happening. I didn’t like their performance yesterday but I’m still hopeful that the overall goals for the season will be achieved. I had guessed they would go 11-6 and get a WC berth, and they can still do that if they win their last two. I realize the bandwagoneers are already jumping ship, but that’s to be expected, after all they did the same when Brady was here, so I expect nothing less now that he’s gone.
Every rookie QB needs to improve at something...for Mac it's probably hitting the gym. But you're right, Mac is probably the least of our worries. On offense, we need an infusion of talent at WR and better pass protection. On defense, it's getting more athletic at LB and being able to stop the run.

Brady has played in these conditions plenty of times and the team didn’t ignore the passing game. Cassel played in worse wind in Buffalo and threw 8 times completing 6.
Could be wrong but I think the reins are still on Mac for whatever reason.

Brady is a 20 year vet in our system. He learned to play in these conditions and was used to it coming from Michigan. Mac has to learn. Maybe they've kept the reins on Mac a bit because he has a good coaching staff who knows what they are doing with a rookie QB....

He's a rookie that's why the reins are on. As good as he's been he's still bound to make rookie mistakes. Alot of people on this board are getting lost in this fact and every poor performance pounce on it (although I think alot of them for some reason want to see him fail since Brady left).
But, he's been the best of all rookie Quarterbacks

I was simply comparing a QB who the team felt a no pass offense gave them the best chance to win…and as it turns out they were right…with other guys who they obviously felt differently.
