???

Hines is one of the 4.

So I'm already counting Hines as one of them.

Steuber is a tackle, not interior linemen.

If Russey is better than Andrews, then great!
So how many interior lineman are we going to keep on the roster this season? Both Andrews, Onwenu, Strange, Mafi, Sow, Russey, Hines. That is 8 players for 3 spots? I am sure you can probably put one or two on the practice squad but in theory all the guys we have taken so far today would have to make the team.

They might see Sow as a tackle.

Strange also might be better suited for tackle given his challenges against power interior players as a rookie.

Strange to LT

So they draft Strange in round 1 last year and now go very heavy on guards today...doesn't make much sense. They need tackles

Lol Strange didn't play that well at guard but now he is going to get moved to left tackle?

It does not make sense to have 8 IOL and there is no Tackle drafted (unless Dante vetoed them all). It would make some sense if the Pats see Sow or Strange as a tackle (in 2024).

Ferentz is gone for sure. Hopefully Bryant too, but that is unrelated to the OL - I am only frustrated buying new TVs so I hope Bryant is gone.

I would charge a lot less than Groh and BB and could do better. Not because I claim to know more but its an absolute roulette wheel, as many have stated
No you wouldn't. You'd be fired in two years after putting together garbage.

Go for it. The pay is supposedly pretty good

Trent at LT, Strange at LG, Andrews at center of healthy, Onwenu at RG and Anderson will probably play RT because Reiff can’t stay healthy.

These kids will have to come in and compete. If by the end of camp and preseason they have a glut of lineman expect Onwenu to be traded for a high pick and Andrews at C might retire.
IMO not a good strategy to trade our best Offense Lineman

Worth remembering taking a kicker that can start allows them to release Folk and save $2M on the cap.

I am terrified if they think Strange is going to play tackle. He was benched multiple times against guys who were much worse athletes and now they would put him against pass rushers? No thanks.

IIRC one or two of the IOL picks today have recent injury history. That may be indicating they’ll be redshirted if not fully ready to answer the gun.

This argument makes no sense. I do not watch thousands of hours of tape yet I said they should pick LanarJackson over Sony Michelle, Jaylen Hurts over Duggar, Deebo Samuel over Harry and Pickens over Thornton. I certainly would not have picked Rohrweisser

Maybe they are wasting money on the scouts. I think amateurs could do better

They overthink it

Pats have enough cap room. If you want to draft the kicker later then sure. But they absolutely needed a big tackle to help Mac Jones not get killed.

I always leave room for the chance I may be completely wrong. I just think with Russey and the two kids they already took it was a redundant pick. I hope I’m wrong, I never root for failure once prospects are Pats.
It very well might be a redundant pick. I don't now. What I do know is that the IOL was lacking talent with Hines, Russey, Ferentz, and Murray. If the kids mean that Ferentz can finally retire and coach with dad and Murray can be released, then I'm for it.

We will keep that in mind when we have $102 million in cap space next year instead of $100 million.

Yes, because the 5 OTs they have on the team are going to get Mac killed..

Strange DID have games where he was very good and he also struggled in others. That's the kind of thing a rookie does (inconsistency). Hopefully he grows from year one to year two.

Well that solves all our problems. They'll be injured so they'll be on IR anyways lol.

They had "depth" last year. Mac got killed. You should know, you had faith in the Patricia offense more than anyone. What happened?

And yeah more or less the guys in the room aren't great or have health issues.

They’re never switching to a west coast system. Obie will use the system they have, he always has… it’s what Alabama runs.
It’s different. That’s why Mac helped BOB get up to speed on Sarkisian’s offense before he left.

I assume he will be better than last year but that is assuming he is playing guard.
