bump for that poster named kappy who asked about it and couldn't find it

a recently great piece of info from spacecrime:

spacecrime said:
Running up the score seems not to be an issue with the NFL these past two weeks, even though last week the the Vikings ran up 42 points to the Lions 10, and the Jets, killing the Dolphins 27-13 in the FOURTH quarter, ran up an unnecessary additional 17 fourth quarter points on the hapless Fins.

The week before that:

the Cowboys scored 13 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Jets 34-3

the Colts scored 10 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Falcons 31-13

the Saints scored 21 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Panthers 31-6

the Bengals scored 21 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Titans 35-6

So where is the agony? Where is the outrage? Where is all the running up the score talk? That's what I want to know.

1983, Redskins beat Rams 51-7, no media stories.

oh really, you went through the newspaper articles from 1983 to see if anyone thought they were running up the score? that is some impressive research you have done...

the Colts scored 10 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Falcons 31-13

wow, 10 second half points? i'm really shocked nobody wrote about the colts running up the score on that one - I mean they did have an 8 point lead at halftime.

the Saints scored 21 unanswered 2nd half points to defeat the Panthers 31-6

you mean they were up 10-6 at halftime and continued to pour it on the Panthers in the second half? How brutal of them. I'm surprised ESPN didn't cover it.

Seriously guys, you actually have a point that the Pats take more sh*t than other teams on something like this - but at least bring up some legit examples. Show me Manning throwing 3 "big lead" 4th quarter touchdown passes in 2004 (which i'm sure he did), show me Parcells going for it on 4th down up by 30 points in the 4th quarter. The minnesota example in another thread was legit, this stuff is just amusing.
