Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Pats @ Browns

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

The actual NFL rule:

"It is a foul for illegal touching if a forward pass first touches or is caught by an eligible receiver who has gone out of bounds (either by his own volition or by being legally forced out) and has re-established himself inbounds.

Penalty: Loss of down at the previous spot."

Bill Belichick didn't argue it. Appears to be the right call
You cant run on the sidelines. Gotta make a straight in and Henry did try to gain a few steps outside.

Correct call

Pity it could hv easily been 7-3...

Looks like the rules say it doesn’t matter
Thats bs then, and needs to be changed because a defender can shove an opposing player out of bounds and take him out of the play. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

I know the qb being outside the pocket changes downfield rules, but I was pretty sure the DB's didn't get to manhandle anyone beyond 5 unless there was a tipped/batted ball. The shove OOB was clearly before the ball was thrown. How isn't that a flag on the D? Henry doesn't go OOB without the contact clearly made beyond 5 yards in the back of the EZ.

Very nicely done by both Zappe and Parker

Davante Parker has his big boy pants on today...

Nice Parker....he might have a big game today !

Hating our running game atm.

The rule for illegal contact:

ARTICLE 3. ILLEGAL CONTACT BEYOND FIVE-YARD ZONE

Beyond the five-yard zone, if the player who receives the snap remains in the pocket with the ball, a defender cannot initiate contact with a receiver who is attempting to evade him. A defender may use his hands or arms only to defend or protect himself against impending contact caused by a receiver.

Zappe to Parker is looking to be a good connection...

It all depends on whether Zappe is out of the pocket.

I'd have to see it again to judge.

Zappe missed Henry who was wide open at first, but when did the LB hit Henry? Was Zappe out of the pocket?

It was a great play by Zappe to keep it alive and throw an accurate ball but I think he missed a wide open Henry initially.

I think there has been more bonehead penalties in this season than the previous 20.

Going to have to be a Zappe day because Browns rushing D is day and night different than last week. They came to play today.
