Defense came to play.

Even with all the mistakes, the tipped passes, the dropped passes, the bad passes, and a TB12 "C" game, the defense really came to play and helped the Pats be in position to win.

Despite how everyone claims the team lets him down, he's actually won a lot of playoff games with pedestrian or bad stats.
