Mathiieu would be a good signing if we couldn't get Talib and or Sherman willing to come cheap to come to Bill.
Which appearantly we can so I say no to the overpriced Mathieu and yes To Sherman and possibly Talib.
With Sherman coming available for no draft compensation I wouldnt anything other than Richards for Talib.

Peters and Shields contracts was very reasonable.

I'm hoping against hope for Richard Sherman but I have a feeling he signs elsewhere.

Season is not here yet, so let's see what happens in free agency and the draft but right now if we make no moves at that position, I'd say he's the front runner to be the number 2 corner. Kind of by default.

Someone who can perform better than Butler did in 2017.

Rowe can be pretty decent - when healthy. Jon Jones is better than many folks seem to think.

The big thing that will help the pass-D is fixing the run-D so that McCourty doesn't need to play up in the box as much as he did in 2017. Investments on the DL and at LB will likely pay more dividends in pass-D than paying for Sherman.
