Maybe the Patriots want to recoup the pick they have to give up for say a Aiyuk or a Pickens.Josh Dobbs is not bad at all for a backup. He has starting experience and some athletic ability. If Maye missed a couple games, Dobbs can keep the ship afloat and should be able to execute the same scheme design without limiting the playbook heavily.
It is interesting as far as what it means for Joe Milton, and $4M a year is somewhat significant for a QB3.
If Moses can just hold down the RT position for even a year while we hopefully have his replacement (either already on the roster, or a player not yet acquired), then that's enough. He's already better than what we trotted out last season.Landry and Spillane are good.
Moses is good but old and I'll feel better about it after we fill LT.
Ummmm you make them earn it by bringing in guys they should beat?? I get what you are saying about draft capital giving an aura of safety. To me that feels flawed to say sure this guy in the draft might be better than Polk, but we can't draft him because we need to wait the allotted amount of time that DaBruinz has established as proper waiting time.
Is it throwing away picks if you strengthen the room? Not going to hit on all picks so wouldn't you want to find out sooner than later? I would. I just approach team building, differently I guess.
I just hope that Maye doesn't miss any games (that would be bad on numerous levels).Josh Dobbs is not bad at all for a backup. He has starting experience and some athletic ability. Huh? Of course it’s true it’s just the #’s
They get traded a ton.
There still more valuable than rounds 4-7
Teams trade third round Picks all the time for established NFL players
It really is the sweet spot if you want to pick up starting Caliber NFL players, trade third round picks all day long for that
JudonIt's just the numbers.. That you fail to actually provide. Uh huh..
Go ahead and post them.. Show us how many 3rd round picks are traded each year for an established Vet.
I think it gives them the flexibility to trade Milton or keep him, depending on if they get an offer they love.Josh Dobbs is not bad at all for a backup. Joshua Palmer got 3 years, $36M from the Bills. Was interested in him. Good separation and had experience as an X receiver with the Chargers. Would have been a nice add.
Browns just signed Kenny Pickett and traded DTR to do it.I do wonder what teams might still want Milton. Browns? Saints? Jets? Giants? Steelers? Colts?
Look up sunk costs.
Didn’t someone post an analysis that DT was one of the positions where some good ones were drafted late, more as compared to other positions?I feel like defensive line is sort of out of the picture now for the draft, at least on the interior.
I think that puts something like running back in play now too, beyond the obvious.
???There’s nothing more irritating than a player making it to FA, only immediately re-signing with their prior team.
Such a ****y move.
Don't mind Sam. He's whining because he needs attention. He said the same thing earlier and was corrected by several people.Landry and Spillane are good.

It might be annoying as a fan who wants that player, but calling them "****y" for it makes you sound like a clownThere’s nothing more irritating than a player making it to FA, only immediately re-signing with their prior team.
Such a ****y move.
