Maybe the Patriots want to recoup the pick they have to give up for say a Aiyuk or a Pickens.

Speaking of that I could see the Eagles trading us Brown for a third this year and second next year and then going and getting Pickens for a fourth and not miss a beat.

Moses is good but old and I'll feel better about it after we fill LT.

If Moses can just hold down the RT position for even a year while we hopefully have his replacement (either already on the roster, or a player not yet acquired), then that's enough. He's already better than what we trotted out last season.

To me that feels flawed to say sure this guy in the draft might be better than Polk, but we can't draft him because we need to wait the allotted amount of time that DaBruinz has established as proper waiting time.

Is it throwing away picks if you strengthen the room? Not going to hit on all picks so wouldn't you want to find out sooner than later? I would. I just approach team building, differently I guess.

Yes. It is throwing away picks to draft MORE players at a position that you have already invested a ton in. You're also GUESSING that the guy you're touting will "strengthen the room" will actually do just that. Especially at position like WR where so many 1st/2nd round picks BUST regularly. It's how the likes of the Lions and Jets were driven into the ground and stayed there for years on end. YOU are clearly content with collecting talent. That's not how to build a team.. Maybe use the Patriots from 2001 - 2017 as a guide instead of the Lions from the same time frame. That is what YOU are advocating. The actual FLAWED thought process.

It's not a matter of ME saying to "wait an allotted amount of time". That's you ignoring what's ACTUALLY said because you have an issue with someone pointing out the FLAWS of your post. Bringing in a VET on a "Prove-It" 1 year deal (aka Low value) is exactly how you push Polk and Baker and find out if they have what it takes. If they have it, they flourish and become an integral part of the team. If they don't, they're gone by camp and you move on with what you have.

YOU and others on this board called out MAYO and AVP being crap, but then want to use MORE assets on a position without having given the assets you currently have the benefit of better coaching? What sort of message does THAT send? That the NEW Coach/Front Office doesn't care if you were put in a position to fail and failed. That you aren't worth the time/effort for them. You want to see players stop coming to New England? THAT'S the way to do it. The result of that will be having to over-pay for below average or mediocre talent and not actually improving.

Teams trade third round Picks all the time for established NFL players
It really is the sweet spot if you want to pick up starting Caliber NFL players, trade third round picks all day long for that

Joshua Palmer got 3 years, $36M from the Bills. Was interested in him. Good separation and had experience as an X receiver with the Chargers. Would have been a nice add.

I think it gives them the flexibility to trade Milton or keep him, depending on if they get an offer they love.

Browns just signed Kenny Pickett and traded DTR to do it.
Colts are actively shopping Anthony Richardson but there are no takers.

Follow your own advice. Make sure you put it into the context of the NFL team with an understanding of how it breeds success (or failure) in the NFL. Otherwise, you're offering nothing of value.

I feel like defensive line is sort of out of the picture now for the draft, at least on the interior.

I think that puts something like running back in play now too, beyond the obvious.

Didn’t someone post an analysis that DT was one of the positions where some good ones were drafted late, more as compared to other positions?
