For whatever it's worth (probably nothing), Sporting News is reporting that the Patriots are close to getting Amari Cooper. If so, although he had a down season, the previous year he had over 1K receiving yards. I know he's in decline, but if it's a "Won't hurt the Team" contract and he turns out to give us even a year (maybe two) of decent WR play (while we address the position in this and subsequent draft's), it might not totally suck. Just passing this on. Don't know if it'll materialize and I'm not saying it's something that I hope happens.

Yep, Amari is one of the many receivers on the downslope that we might get.

I am sure several people in here will disagree with me, but I have been impressed with the FA plan. Bring in vets that will allow them to play competent football and start building through the draft. Because of alot of the moves made they won't necessarily have to press for a particular player or position.

Before I get hit with but..but..but there is a long way to go in FA.

As one addition among others Cooper might not be a bad choice on the right contract. He may be declining but he's a team player and has been well thought of by every organization he's been with. As an example for the rest of the WR room they could do worse

That’s not a report of a guy who is connected, it’s a guy making a prediction the same way ProFootballFocus does. Doesn’t preclude the Pats from signing him, but that particular report isn’t showing any inside scoop.
