What is "decent though"?

The AFC is loaded with top tier QB's. That is alot to overcome.
Solid OL. Talented, and not injury riddled, with stability to learn to play together well. That’s #1, and has been worst weakness this season.

Solid WRs. Healthy, talented, skilled, passionate. We have some this season, but not enough, and injuries have been a problem. I’d say Bourne, Pop, Reagor are keepers. Juju, and Parker are past their use-by dates. Jury is still out on Boutte and TT but I’d see them on the outside looking in. MHJ would be a good addition, add another couple of prospects between rookies and young (emphasis young) vets.

maybe add another RB, or perhaps a FB. I think Rham, Zeke, and Harris are a decent foundation, maybe add a developmental prospect. I’d like to have a FB for blocking and to reduce wear and tear on Zeke and Rham.

TEs could stand pat. Otherwise, lots of room for improvement on offense, as described. Shore up those areas and it‘ll be enough to win. Doesn’t matter how good opposing QB is, compared to your QB. What matters is how good the opposing team is, compared to your team.

I don’t think anyone would say Zappe is a better QB than Wilson, but Zappe’s Patriots team beat Wilson’s Broncos team tonight. Thats why your concern about the quality of opposing QBs is tunnel vision.

No…Williams and Maye will be gone. Not sure about Daniels.

If Zappe continues to win they won’t go for Daniels. OT is the obvious and safest choice
Normally I’d favor OT, but if MHJ is on the board I’d love to see Bill break with his traditional reluctance to draft good WRs.

I keep wondering if Chicago will really go for a QB if they win the remaining two matches which has a decent chance of happening.

They might roll with fields for another year which might cause a domino effect
They would then trade the pick and someone else would draft a QB at #1.

The Zappe hype train is spinning out of control.
The Broncos are a pathetic team. Their defense tonight was horrendous. Zappe had a good game and he did have a 4th quarter comeback, which is more than I can say for Mac.
Let's be real, Zappe's ceiling is backup qb at best.
His weaknesses (height, arm strength) have not gone away because he beat two mediocre teams.

Just because he told someone he was going to be starting qb for the pats after being cut does not make hime teh next Tom Brady.
I don’t think he’ll be a long term starting QB in the league however I don’t fully rule it out.

He has actually shown something to me. His arm strength isn’t great but it’s passable and he can put plenty of zip on the ball.

If we take a swing at QB it might not be a bad idea to have Zappe here not only as a bridge QB but as competition for a new rookie to have beat out.

There are some real blue chippers in the top 10 besides the ones we have discussed (Caleb, Maye, Harrison, Daniels and Alt),

If we are at 3 or 4- I would love Daniels as our franchise QB of the future, but I think he will be gone by 4 or 5

Even if the worst happens and we get to 9 or 10 there should be some damn good players available
Honestly, Fashanu is just as good as ALT and would be very happy to get him, or Nabers...if we are picking at 5 or 6

Olu Fashanu- Stud LT from Penn State
Laiatu Latu- scary DE from UCLA (reminds me of Mcginest)
Keion Coleman- Tall tangy WR from FSU
JC Latham - enormous OT from Bama
Malik Nabers- smooth WR from LSU
JJ McCarthy QB from Michigan
Brock Bowers TE Georgia...can block and catch with the best of em

I would NOT consider trading the 2025 first rounder to move up a couple of spots..because that could be a top 5 pick

By all accounts he’ll be gone in the top 3 picks so I think OT is the more realistic option

If I’m the Pats, I’m drafting if I have a top 7 pick. That means you are getting one of the 3 QBs, 2 OTs, Marvin Harrison or Brock Bowers. 8 or lower I look at dropping back a bit and accumulating a mid rounder or two.

As of now, that means resigning all of them.

As I've said elsewhere, you can easily justify trading up that high if it's the difference (to borrow from Madden) between, say, a 95 and an 82. But trading up from a 90 to a 91 is just dumb.

I think Caleb goes one to bears, Alt goes 2 to Cardinals, Maye goes 3 to Commanders
I could live with that. I really don't like Caleb and Alt, and I'm lukewarm on Maye. We'd have Jayden Daniels, MHJ and Olu Fashanu drop in our laps.

Still need the franchise QB. Zappe isn't beating top tier teams.
Zappe also only had 6 starts in his career. 4 this year.

During those 4 starts he has:

857 yds 6 TD 2 INT 96.8 rating

Prorated to 17 games:

3642 yds 25 TD 8 INT

That’s slightly better numbers than Mac Jones rookie year. which people on this board thought that it was one of the greatest rookie season for a QB. Just to put thing into perspective.

I have concerns about his mental ability, but zero on his physical attributes.

Be interesting to see how he interviews.
Can you name a successful pro QB with a slim lower body?

Jayden Daniels will be a good consolation prize. I also wouldn’t mind if the Pats traded for Fields if the Bears end up drafting Caleb.

After googling his height. I can live with it.

The game? Or Bill Belichick?
The game ... I remember when Payton was considered top of the heap ... game passed him by I guess
