Can this Marte replace one of the worst the Pats have had at ILB1 in the BB era? Who can?

Definitely feels odd that they've sat on all their picks so far.

Agreed. Groh said they really liked the 3rd and 4th rounds. Looks like he was not kidding. Have to assume a lot of offense tomorrow, then the punter and kicker by trading 6s to get 5s.

Don‘t forget Dugger is a free agent next year and likely will command top safety money. So may have just drafted his replacement when he leaves next year.
They have a ton of money the next couple of years. Dugger, Onwenu, Uche, Barmore - they can keep them all.

This is a bad use of draft capital. Way too much is being used on defense
.Clearly, the Patriots are loading up to deal with the division with speed and tough young players. I like what they did in free agency and now I like the draft so far. Young versatile talent at all three levels with nine picks to go.

We should have a backup for 2023, and a potential replacement for 2024.

Could be. Trade all those 6ths for a couple 5ths.

Look forward to another disappointing offense year where BOB gets an out for being in year 1, OL play sucks, and the emotional QB can’t hang in there. Alrighty.
I would have to agree that it’s not looking too positive right now… The office of line was a sieve last year… What have we done to secure that and give mac time?! Yeah nothing..,.. and BB record of building OL off of UDFA has not been a success

???????????
Sounds like "Bill liked him and that's why he got drafted". I know Bill loves the safety/LB hybrid and it seems to be his white whale but Kyle Digger seems to already be in that role. I guess he plans on letting Dugger walk? I don't know. Just a bad pick and very reminiscent of Bill's last bunch of drafts.

???????????
I don't know why they call them that. Each team gets 30 facility visits on players they want a closer look at. Keion White, for example, didn't get a visit because they didn't feel they needed one.

I hate the Jags draft I think they may of had the worst draft so far.

Mapu is listed at 6'3 216 lbs. That's why people are talking about him as safety. This is usually way too light for a Patriots linebacker. Unless BB is turning over a new leaf?
The "lighter" part is the problem but we'll see. I like him, will have to see how it goes.
I don’t think the lighter part is going to hurt him here. This is throw it almost every down league. Bill’s probably concocting some new hybrid defense that will change the game.

Where the hell are you getting 240 pounds? He’s 220 soaking wet
This must be one of those "N'Keal Harry is 6'4" even though he measured 6'2 at the combine.
