Had we stayed at 43 there’s a good chance Dawson would’ve still been the pick.

Definitely looks like he was among the highest rated remaining players on BBs board. At least they didn't "reach" for him the way they did for Richards (or more likely had a more realistic draft grade on him).

Rumor had it that Washington liked Vea, so to get Settle 150+ picks later is great value.

If we wanted Evans we would have had Evans. The reality is that the Patriots tried to trade up for Ragnow before the Lions took him. You don't do that if you really want a LB.

Landry is simply not a scheme fit here and never really in play unless available late, late in the draft where he would turn into value. Said that already before the draft..

But whatever you want to believe man..
That's a bit frightening when you consider the Patriots have one of the worst LB corps in the NFL.

there is not much competition in the AFC. I would think Houston, Jax and Pitt are the toughest opponents, but NE should be able to handle them.

You still worry about this defense. It will be interesting to see how this secondary plays. They where awful last year in the rankings and played better as the season went on but the true colors came out in the super bowl although who knows what would have happened with butler.

Just watch Bentley's tape

I honestly liked it a fair amount. Clearly not a super talented player but he seems to "get the game" which i think is an underrated attribute. I am not saying he will be a HOF player but many HOF players made it there just cause they could correctly anticipate and be in the right spot and then make the play that was there to make and do it down after down after down.

What stuck out to me is his pop on hits. Truly worthy of the thumper titled though not the biggest thumper I've ever seen to be fair. His north to south speed is legit NFL level so that was good to see. As for his sideline speed it seems decent enough to play in the NFL. Where his speed failed for me is if a play gets behind him in the NFL he has no chance in most cases I'd say.

He does have a bit of that vet savvy. I liked his 73 yard pick 6 more than any of our nickle CBs picks on tape. It was legit. He read the QBs eyes the whole way and moved into position. Yes it inexcusable for the QB not to see him but that happens in the NFL too at times.

He seems like he has a chance to be a role player and maybe grow into more but it will have to be because he becomes a great instinctual and anticipatory player.

Can Bentley cover though? It's frustrating watching RBs out of the backfield pick up a 3rd and long on a wheel route because our LB corps is super slow.

Coverage LB is sill a big need. Puzzling how we still haven’t added talent to that position. I can’t take Roberts anymore

Jaylen Samuels to the Steelers.
