of all the statements made last night....
and it WAS a statement game.......ST's foolishness gave away 14 points, and that needs to be cleaned up, but....
the defense played very well.....realistically let up 9 points gift field position aside......
tackled fairly well, DB's did a nice job within the gameplan.....
OL was in full beast mode.....blount got fairly consistent yards, and there were times they just steamrolled the power run.....great to see
brady was brady-like......he made some killer laser beam throws, and the drops in the bucket to Bennet & edle-dude on the sideline were things of beauty......and the read at the line and throw to hogan was masterful
blount ran with authority, as he generally does......gotta love the hammer (with wheels) in december and beyond...
white was a great change of pace, and he excels as a receiving back, even pressed into duty as a WR he looked good
hogan looked like a steal, again
but the biggest statement had to be mitchell......we've watched him emerge, but that touchdown catch on the slant, to me, was the money play of the day......brady made a great read, but he ran a perfect route and made a really tough catch look easy......as much as i like his stretch the field ability, if he can continue the red zone play he showed last night (and he's shown as of late), that is just a huge, huge lift......trying not to get too high on the kid and be realistic, but i love that catch beyond belief.....that whole play was money, and they both made it look so easy it's hard not to gloss over it
