His throws aren’t on a frozen rope. He kind of pushes and threads the ball downfield in a way that reminds me of Brad Johnson.
Agreed. He tends to put some air under the deeper throws. I don't know if that's a function of a lack of arm strength or more of a "I've got Kyle Pitts, Trevon Grimes, and Justin Shorter on the outside, let's just throw it up there and let them go get it" thing.

Because I've seen him throw some darts - especially over the middle of the field.

It’s the difficult throws to the sidelines and the deep balls that tend to float. Contrast that with Emory, who has a cannon. The ball explodes out of his hand like a nuclear bomb went off. His issue is touch on shorter throws and being able to read the defense post-snap. Trask is near elite at reading a defense after the snap.

I think trask is the best pre and post snap in this draft.

I think that getting us into the right play pre snap is paramount to success and part of what made Brady so special.

I would not be disappointed if we took trask and let him and stidham go at it for the 2022 starter.

Wouldn't be excited either

But outside of Fields/Lance, he is who I'd be eying on Day 2/3

Desperate hope is not a plan.

There is little reason to expect us to be able to draft a top QB in 2022. Do you disagree?

i do not know!

I think bb has some weird infatuation with newton and that this is the year bb gets newton to look more like the 2015 newton than the 2020 newton!

but we are one injury to newton away from a 1 - 16 season.

A year too late to go 1-16!

I am optimistic we can Matt Cassell our way to 10-7 or 11-6 and hope for the best in the playoffs.

Third String But Playing on Special Teams
I just think Trask's arm is going to limit him in the NFL. He has really nice touch on some of his deeper throws, but he floats too many balls to the boundary. In the NFL, some of those will end up as pick sixes. Reminds me a little of Kyle Lauletta in that regard. He can probably be a game manager type, maybe a Kyle Orton (who had a couple of solid years under McDaniels in Denver). My question is whether he can improve the arm strength at this stage, through better mechanics etc

I'm not against taking a shot at a QB in the 3rd round as we need to keep firing until we hit on one, but I think we need to keep our expectations tempered. I've gone round the houses on ranking Mills, Mond and Trask, and I think I'd rather take a shot on Davis Mills' upside than Trask. There is some possible untapped potential with Mills given his low number of starts. However, if the choice is Mills at 46 or Trask at 120, then I'll take Trask.

In the Starting Line-Up
Oddly enough, I also like Trask. He is very accurate. I would like to see him look off the safety and do his progressions, but he can really thread the needle. His foot speed is, well, not much better than Brady, but hey....He would be a good mid-round pick.

Not a Trask fan. Whenever Pitts was out of the lineup, Trask looked awful. His last game at Florida, Trask was abysmal.
The 2 weeks pitts was out following the concussion against Georgia trask threw for 9 tds 0 picks. Agree on his last game though.

I do not put a lot of stock in the bowl game, but I do put a lot of stock in the sec championship game and I thought he almost willed his team to a win against an incredibly stacked Alabama team.

that’s the kind of guy I wish we had. I wish his arm was stronger, but I think we can help fix that.

Trask does have the biggest QB hands in this draft....something we need playing in inclement weather in the Northeast most of the time....

If only Big Hands determined QB success, it would be a lot easier to pick them! ^_^

FYI The Goat's hand size is 9.38, while Bledsoe hand size is 9.63, Ryan Mallet's hand size is a whopping 10.75.

Hand size says nothing about how good you are gonna be, it's all about what you do with it. [In before "That's what she said" comments LOL]

Agree, but the Patriots have consistently sought out QB's with bigger hands in the BB era.

A good summary here:

The ideal size for a NFL QB per google is 9.5....and only O'Connell and KIngsbury had smaller than 9" above....both now are coaches....hmmm....

So add this to the Pats sh-tty drafting of WRs CBs and QBs. Somehow the GOAT has a hand size smaller than a ton of players but the idiot staff is focused on hand size for QBa and combine stats for WR/CB
