Obrien and Klemm

I’ve heard nothing about anyone being against Klemm.
If you believe what Trent Brown said (I think it was him but maybe it was someone else) about Klemm’s system/practice plan being scrapped when Klemm went out in November, there could be some in the organization against ousting him.

I wouldn't be against it. let him bring in his own people and really remake the offense the way he wants.

if we are going to keep retreads though i would prefer McDaniels.....
We do need a revamped and hopefully solid offensive position coaches staff.

I would celebrate the fine decision.

BTW, BOB is under contract. I see nothing to think that Kraft would fire him

Youre fine with little Jerry Jones.

Mayo does not get to pick his guy. Little Jerry does and his pulling of the puppet strings wont stop there. Overlooked is how much did Little Jerry think that he learned from working with BB for 24 years? Me thinks that Little Jerry plans to keep the NE defense as is and in his mind all the Pats need is offensive weapons and OL. Corky Mac is staying on as the franchise and Little Jerry is going to pick a WR at 3 just like he did for his boy Drew Bledsoe.

You want krafts making football decisions?

AN ASIDE
Yes, I understand that having the best GM/HC in the history of NFL might have convinced the Kraft's to simply trust the decisions of Belichick until he turns 80, and should have convinced them to be more hands-off during the last four years.

=====================
But, YES, I think ownership has the right and responsibility to make decisions when they judge that it right to step in. I understand that some owners and most fans would prefer that the owner clip coupons and ignore all decisions on their billion dollar asset ($6B-$7B in the case of the patriots)

You believed that Saint Bill should have been free to make all football related decisions, and should have continued to do so in 2024 through the year he chose to retire. WE DISAGREE.

Many owners want their GM/HC to have that kind of power. To them, they are simply a billionaire worrying about an investment. Actual decisions for a $6B asset should be left to the GM/HC. For me, this is simply business negligence. If the Kraft's needed an advisor to help them advise on the occasional decision on their asset, they should hire one. Jonathan has that responsibility with the Kraft wonership.
==============
However, many owners want at least SOME oversight over the decisions of the GM/HC. Some even want to have a VP or President of Football Operations reported to someone in corporate structure. Some owners take a direct hand in hiring, draft and other decisions.

What football acumen does Robert or Jonathan Kraft possess?

I want O'Brien gone. I don't like his playcalling. And I suspect he's behind some of the recent leaks. I'm not a huge fan of Klemm eiher. But I don't feel quite as strongly about him.
Fire both and please don’t bring back McD. If they bring back McD that signals that most likely Mac is staying!

So, your point is that ownership is in control of the team? I see nothing wrong with that.

Really? You think the Kraft's should be making the football decisions? I am guessing you are the only one that thinks that.

That's something I hadn't thought about and the idea is truly vomit inducing.

False rumor. We have a GM. His name is Robert Kraft.
EDITED to correct the name of the player. Thanks Rain and Robert

Remember RKK being excited when they drafted press corner Tebucky Jones? With all of the airing of the BB grievances it looks like we have traded one brand of disfunction for a new brand with no convenient scapegoat for the Krafts.

Hard No to Adrian Klemm continuing in that role. And he needs to take Billy Yates with him when he leaves.
Thank you !

Is this why we picked a Mayo?
So Kraft can keep Belichick’s assistants & scouts ?

We all loved Troy Brown as a over achiever player, but he has done a poor job as a receiver coach.

Are we really going to continue with Bills receiver scouts who picked Thornton?

Chris Canty. Head the size of a giant melon; nothing inside. Ego the size of Trent Brown. Legs like pipe stems. What could go wrong?

I'm not sure. Perhaps, their staff and friends can provide advice. Such advice can't be further than a phone call away. I'm sure that there are literally dozens that he could consult; and that's what owners often do.

NFL is first and foremost a business.

Drafting with our #3 pick is first and foremost a business decision.

Hiring a HC is first and foremost a business decision.
========
If Bob and Jonathan need advice in those business decisions, they can get it, from friends, from staff and from consultants.
=========
If I am running a $6B BUSINESS, I want the person at the top of decision-making process to be able to make the best BUSINESS decision.

I suppose that some ownership teams would leave the choices at the top of the draft to HC. As with many organizations, I disagree. Ownership should be involved with the decision-making. PERSONALLY, I think that it negligence for owners to simply allow the HC full responsibility.

I cerTainly understand that you, and perhaps a majority of fans disagree.

I thought he called Tebucky the "press corner"?

Believe as you will.

ALMOST ALL COMPETENT OWNERS make some of the most important of the business decisions. Some are very obvious in that oversight, some more behind the scenes.

I would be very, very disappointed if every poster agreed with you, and believe that a HC should make all the decisions with no oversight from the owners.

I know of some Everglades land for sale at a low price to ANY POSTER who believes that ownership will not have the final decision on the first few of draft choices.

That was Tebucky Jones. I remember Carroll being really excited as he wanted to pair a physical CB with Ty Law. Hard to imagine it being Canty as he was a midget.

Ted Johnson said he and Bledsoe asked Kraft not to sign Chris Canty after his first practice. They thought he was that bad. Canty had his moments as a returner, but he was a pretty bad CB.
