Not Brady’s Best Game...

If someone wants to argue Brady doesn't deserve this win let them. First off, he does. Second off, if we are only going to give credit to QBs who are great/good throughout their entire playoff run then maybe only 10 wins in superbowl history have been earned.

Brady played great ball in the divisional round and AFCCG to put his team into this position. So he got carried a little bit. So what? Historically a good number of super bowl winning QBs got 'carried'. It may even be a majority of the winner QBs got carried by their team. If you lead your team to 9 super bowls you are probably going to get helped out a few times even in this offensive era.

If people want to take this one away from Brady then fine.

Take both of Peyton's away.
Take two away from Bradshaw
Take one away from Montana.. Ect.... We can play this game all day long. The fact is he brought his team there and did enough to get the job done. He also brought his team into FG range 2 other times. One being a miss and the other kick not being attempted because they felt Gost was shaky.

His pick was honestly just bad luck. A great play by the D and a perfectly timed coverage disguise. You need to just give them credit on that one. Before the throw it looked like the right place to go and would have been 99 out of 100 times. It was a brilliant design and lucky that the defender broke at the extra moment where he would be able to get there on time and that the release was already in motion.

His worst super bowl performance ever. Not even by stats but eye test. Makes up for last year
Rater than focusing on TB's performance, why not give credit to Rams D and Wade Phillips. They played a superb game...in spite of of that amazing defensive performance TB and Patriots were still mentally tough enough to do what they had to do to win the game....
that is ALL that matters

If Chris Hogan played like he can, you would be singing a different tune. I hate how the nfl has become where you need 350yds, 3 tds to have “a good game”. The Rams defense played outstanding. The patriots and Tom made the right plays at the right time, this wasn’t easy.

Not sure if anyone's given Wade Phillips his due for his brilliant defensive performance. Constant-changing defense? Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. No QB will be able to figure it out. Keep them guessing, as they always say.

This was the reason Brady struggled so much tonight. Just couldn't get time to properly read the defense.

People here would rather trash McDaniels instead.

Tom Brady has reverted ... He's happy, again, to take what is given. I personally love it. It may mean less impressive numbers - well, for him - but it makes it so much more frustrating for the opposition. TB will just pick at you until you make a mistake. Having a great OL / FB / blocking TE's like this helps ... Having a D that gets better as the season progresses is awesome.

Of course, Jules running free so much was nice, too.

As has often been the case, we're missing an outlet valve on the outside. Not necessarily a deep threat but someone who can ace contested catches on the perimeter. But, as has also often been the case, we won! So perhaps not the biggest need.

... But ultimately he did what was asked out of him at the end of the game. Just like he always does.

This was great to see honestly. For once in the SB, it wasn’t Brady having to carry the team on his shoulders from defeat. The team really delivered today.

Hopefully the talk won’t shift to the defense winning it for Brady. Brady was just as big of a part of this one as he ever has been.
He has only really done that in two of the six though. Without BB/Flo, this was a loss. He is equally great and lucky as well.

Last year Brady carried the Patriots but his defense failed him

This time the defense mostly carried the offense, but Brady made sure to deliver one more time in the 4th with that touchdown drive that “iced” the game at 10-3

Brady made some bad throws. No getting around that

Yes Brady wasn't good. I was really pissed about his fumble because I felt that he knows better. But Brady did what was needed at the end of the day. Lastly, we probably score at least 20 if we had benched Hogan. With all of the talk of retirement of certain players and defensive players like Shelton having a rough year, no one had a more disappointing season imo than Hogan. This was a bad contract year for Hogan and he tops it off with this performance.

He played like for 3 quarters, but when it mattered most he delivered that epic drive including that beautiful throw to Gronk. Like always coming through in the clutch

Nobody but Jules was getting open. It's not like he was missing people. Then the seam pass to Gronk was PERFECTION
I'm ready to scrap the receiving corp this offseason with the exception of Jules. We almost squandered this championship because we need more speed on the outside. Can you imagine what a Gordon would have opened up for us earlier in the game? Just as well not to be tempted, though, since not having the big play on the outside since Gordon got suspended meant we had to get better at grind it out football - aka the thing that won this championship for us.

Meanwhile a few other fanbases (notably, Colts fans) are starting to say this "poor" performance from Tom Brady somehow detracts from his legacy? While the likes of Eagles fans are saying how they probably would have beaten the Patriots again, and the funniest one: Chiefs fans saying they should have been here.
