The only Nomar comment I saw was that it was the Sox decision to let him go - not Manny's

That's completely false - Manny and Boras admitted that Manny was acting bad to force the Sox's hand, and that when the agreed to waive the option years prior to a trade, Manny offered to stay and behave if the same deal were offered here.

Manny made the choice to behave the way he did to force a trade - no one else.
