NFL - Draft - Yahoo! Sports

If you look at the new PFW player rankings, you will see Nick Fairly at #17. This is the first time that I've seen him drop from the top 10 in any rankings.

Kindly ignore the mock draft that has us taking Cam Jordan at #17 and Jake Locker at #28.
Just for ha-ha's if we took all the players that they have ranked in our slots, would you consider it an bad OVERALL draft?

Where would you play him? just kidding, I am sure that some haters wouldn't take him with the 200th pick of the draft but if the Patriots could add Fairley they would immediately upgrade their pass rush and their historically bad 3rd down defense.

It would be a no brainer slam dunk.

According to Peter King in MMQB today, Fairley is indeed falling down the draft boards. I think the combination of questionable work ethic, the 1 year wonder thing, and his smaller size that previously thought has people doing alot of questioning. Some guys not as talented as Fairley but considered more of a sure thing are going to go over him now. I still don't think he drops past #12 or so, but if he somehow lasts until #17, you take him and run. At 6'3" 290 he would be amazing as a 3-4 DE.

With King and Bunting reporting Fairley's fall, it's almost certain he goes #1 to Carolina.

Wilfork dropped quite a bit to fall into the Pats lap and that has worked out OK. Granted he is not as big as they typically want, but there are not many humans who are as big and quick as this guy - look what he can do verses what he can't do. He is a value pick at 17
