...influencing all mocks. Let's hope they aren't draft day trades:

The National Football Post | Browns Looking To Make A Splash?

The Cleveland Browns have been engaging in talks to trade quarterback Brady Quinn and wide receiver Braylon Edwards, according to our own Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post.

Lombardi reports he is hearing from multiple league sources that the Browns have a first round pick on the table for Quinn, but may be looking for more. Two teams are currently interested in Quinn's services.

In addition, Lombardi is hearing that the Browns have a first round pick on the table for wide receiver Braylon Edwards and will most likely trade him before the start of next season.

One other note: Lombardi is hearing the Browns are very interested in Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

Interesting, that's a lot of housecleaning.

Quinn has the ultimate tradeable QB contract -- dirt-cheap for three years if he doesn't start, and just enough to keep him happy ($4-5 mil/year) if he does.

Sounds like a new coach wants "his players"...................

3 first round picks for the Browns would be insane! Let's hope Mangini blows all of them!!

A first for Brady Quinn sounds ridiculous at this point in his career.

The #1 for Edwards has to be from the Giants.

Outsiders - Eagles perhaps?

I think either Detroit or Denver would be candidates for Quinn.

With Winslow gone, Stallworth almost certainly gone, if they trade Edwards that will be some awful offense. Derek Anderson, maybe Crabtree, Steptoe, ick.

Cleveland screwed themselves with extending Anderson. I would take Quinn over Anderson any day. Where they really messed up was signing Mangini. I'm very suprised he got a job so soon.

Anderson's contract was more or less put together with risk in the first year IIRC. Personally I'd have traded Anderson after his one good season, since they were asset invested in Quinn, the local boy, as their future starter. Never the less, if they can get a first for Quinn, they should take it, if they have any doubts about his ability to secure the job moving forward. I have no idea why they would trade Braylan Edwards. Sure he drops balls, but he is young, and a beast. That team is so clueless, regardless of whoever they have running the show.

No way Brady quinn brings a first round pick. If Browns get a round one for quinn and one for Edwards those would be two of the worst trades in years. Mangini will have screwed over 2 clubs. Wow-what a joke.Don't get me wrong-Browns would be improved on paper-Two other clubs would look really stupid.

Well, sources have been wrong before. But what made this info worthy to me was the "two firsts being on the table". This is a far cry from the normal seeking two firsts, etc. that we usually read about. If true, the entire league will have to alter their draft boards -- and not just in round one.

Quinn is easily a better prospect that Josh Freeman who MIGHT be available at 18 for Denver (if the jets don't take him at 17). I would expect Cleveland to want Denver's 12 or the addition of another pick. I would expect the Jets at 17 and Detroit at 20 to be interested. The two QB's will be in the top 10 (or even the top 5). And these teams may not want Freeman. In any case, there are three teams interested in a QB prospect.

Josh would be starting just right with Orton, Sims and Quinn. His best skill his developing quarterbacks.

The bottom line is that there are three teams at 17, 18 and 20 who need quarterbacks and are not likely to get one at that part of the draft.

I have mixed feeling about the Browns. They have been down forever and you have to feel for their fans BUT now they have Mangini so i don't know if I can root for them.
Its a shame they can't beat the Steelers and give them some competion every year. I will have to see IF they ever will be a player in the NFL in the next 10 years. Show me.

I don't see that at all. Brady Quinn went #22 two years ago, and has done little since then to prove that he is worth a 1st round pick. He had half a season of decent but not stellar play. I understand that his contract is fairly favorable, but to give up the #12 pick for him would be extremely unwise.

I didn't say that I recommended that Denver give their 12, only that Cleveland is likely asking for it. Supply and demand is just that. Cleveland will likely get a 1st (17, 18 or 20) and a later pick.

I would be shocked if Denver traded for him. They need defense and Josh likes Orton, for better or worse. TB seems to be heading in the McCown/Leftwich direction. Detroit, that I could see with #20.

It might be a swap of picks. The Browns currently have the 36th and 50th picks in round 2. I don't think it's necessarily Denver who's in the mix, but I could certainly see the Jets or Vikings.

This is a perfect opportunity for the Jets to swoop in, overpay for unproven talent and screw up their franchise for years to come.
