Very good mock for the Pats IMO. Nails almost all their needs and has them taking players that fit their system like Parham (big ILB), Peprah (smart guy with a great work ethic), Basanez (smart leader), Day (loads of potential with top TE measurables) and Jennings (feisty nickel back who's willing in run support).

Jamar Williams would be a great get in the 7th round. He was one of the only true playmakers on the Arizona St. defense this year. He came up with a ton of big plays. Athletic and he drops the hammer on a huge hit about once a game.

Not crazy about Maroney though, I think we could do much better than him.

I think this is one of the beast Mock's I've seen to date. I agree Williams is good value in the seventh, especailly if he can play STs. I am a hugh fan of Parham's although I'd still like to know more about what's going on with Brooks of Virginia and if Parham is involved in any way.
The steal could be Avant. The knock is his speed, but even if he doesn't blaze the 40, he could still be Patriot material with a great shuttle and 3 cone drill.

I love your draft Drew4008. But I doubt we take a Maroney at 21. I feel the Pats will add a backup RB thru FA and look for a Bobby Carpenter or Mannie Lawson at 21. Course, all the mock drafts will be shredded as soon a FA ends and teams address needs but its still fun to project picks now. Great draft Drew. :rocker:

Wow, Kevin Faulk's replacement at a first round price! And he's not a receiving threat or experienced blocker, great start.

Parham, okay, though there are others of equivalent talent who could be had a little later so we could take an OT for more depth or grab one of the second round TEs as insurance for Graham in 07 and Fauria in 06.

Zemaitis gets good write-ups that all question whether his speed will force him to FS - we'll need to see what his Combine score looks like.

Day, a younger Fauria, but fair value in round 3.

Avant is a decent possession receiver.

Peprah, we need another 5'11" 195 lb FS?

Wow, a 6'1" scrambling QB! Now that is a score in the 5th round.

Tim Jennings - "Scouts are well-aware of his abilities and he could be a first-day selection in the 2006 NFL Draft because of those abilities, but, ultimately, his lack of height (5'7 7/8") and a marijuana suspension during college could knock him down quite a few pegs. If he was also a return specialist, he would have helped his cause, but he has only returned four punts in his career (all in 2004) and managed only 16 total yards on those returns." He may be a good kid who screwed up a little, then again...

Williams seems okay, but should be unnecessary if we actually went for one or more of the nice DE/OLB tweeners available this year.

I'm hard pressed to get very excited with this draft.

Yeah, I agree. I think we've done better on this board. A bunch of almost fits and prospects, but no "real solutions" that we can have confidence in. QB Basanez may be the best pick.

The momentum these days seem to have Maroney more likely to be gone at our pick than LenDale White.

I completely disagree with a RB in round 1. I would love White, but only if he falls to us, which seems unlikely. Maroney is a decent back but I feel that we are better off with a CB/S/LB in round one. The RB I really like is Addai and he will be there come round 2. I also like Calhoun as the eventual replacement for Faulk.

I am a true believer that Dillion is not done. I do not think he will amass 1600 yards, but I see a 9-12TD 1300 season if healthy. That is more than enough with our passing attack.
