Hines was cheap because he wasn't under contract for next season.

It reminds me of the Rams last year. They made deadline moves too, and I'm sure they don't regret it (they won a Super Bowl after all). But they've shown it's hard to maintain that every year, and are struggling so far in 2022. Good move for Buffalo, the kind you should make when you're a real contender. But not one you make if you're a .500 team trying to find their identity, and not one you make with an eye towards the future.

Chubb and Phillips could be a force for years.

Hines is one of the best rec backs in the league. Not just dump offs but he can stretch the field for a RB.

Toney could hit big in KC if he keeps his head on straight. He probably won't but he's a perfect weapon for what their current offense is.

Very good move on their part and not really sure why the Colts wanted Moss, unless they still feel that he has potential and look at him as a bruiser who can prolong Taylor’s prime.

Let’s not, however, throw too many bouquets at Beane for this. You can’t just wipe out the fact that they wasted a third round pick on Moss, or that their second round pick this year, Cook, whom they drafted to play the role that Hynes will likely play, failed miserably and forced them to look for other alternatives at the deadlines. Throw in Singletary, a decent back, and they have failed to find a RB1 despite using high picks on three running backs over the past four years.

Beane is a very good GM but let’s not pretend that he walks on water. He makes his fair share of big mistakes as well. DeCosta is revered in the same way by many on this site but if you look at the ravens picks closely there are many duds as well. Both are very good but many here and many fans/experts nationally go overboard.

So the only two offensive tackles traded this year are Herron (who had fallen behind Cannon and tore his ACL a week after being traded) and Dennis Daley, arguably the worst starting tackle in the league since taking over for the Titans after Lewan’s torn ACL. Not a single team solved issues at OT via trade this year.

It is what it is, Bill obviously didn't see any value in anyone available for reasonable $, and knows this team needs more work.
Have lotsa $ this off-season, so I'm hoping that's what he is looking at.
I'll still Cheer and Scream for/about them for the rest of the year and hope for the best.

Pats are my team, and I don't feel bad about that.

I wonder if perhaps Bill thinks that keeping Wynn and Agholor and under-utilizing them will lower their free agent value and allow him to more easily sign then in the off-season. Probably not Wynn, but I could see him trying to keep Agholor at a depressed value if he isn’t able to keep Meyers.

Hines is signed through 2024 for peanuts. He is THE profile they've been missing, should be extremely complementary to Allen & will make them harder/very hard to stop.

Its the last cheaper year of Allen so one would expect they would go even more all in. But they don't have to since they have all other positions covered well enough. And they are getting arguably best corner and their second best player back from injury.

Next year Allen's cap hit goes to franchise territory so of course something gotta give but they have enough space later on to kick the can down the road + they kept key picks of the future intact - keeping them in good shape to manage the good roster.

For those who think this is Rams 2.0 they are not really paying attention.

Chubb to Miami is extremely unfortunate. The 3 picks they obtained from San Fran for Lance have turned into Waddle, Hill, and now Chubb.
